In April 2021, my previous book was doing terribly, so my editor suggested I start another one alongside it.
I refused at first.
But my editor kept insisting, so I had no choice but to casually write an opening chapter to satisfy him.
I was too lazy even to think of a protagonist's name, so I just used my own.
Back then, I never imagined that this casual attempt would last five years.

Every morning, I wrote six thousand words. I slept in the afternoon and went out at night.
I traveled occasionally, too.
That was how I breezed through those five years.
They were the easiest five years of my writing career.

Over those five years, some elementary school readers entered high school.
Some middle school readers entered college.
Some high school readers graduated from college.
Some college readers got married and had children.

One reader once said that when I reached six million words, he would score six hundred points on either his high school entrance exam or college entrance exam.
Now I've made it to nine million words.
