The plane sped over the clouds.
The cabin was quiet. Almost all of Wang Yi's teammates were asleep.
Only head coach Walton was awake, studying the Eastern Conference Finals between the Heat and the Nets on his laptop.
He had to learn everything he could about the Heat as quickly as possible so they could prepare better for the Finals.
Wang Yi watched the moon cast a silvery glow over the sea of clouds. He was thrilled, but also a little anxious.
His body was exhausted, yet his mind was buzzing with excitement.
That was no good at all with the Finals just around the corner.
But he simply couldn't fall asleep. With no other choice, he opened his laptop and started studying the Heat's games too.
That night, after returning to his villa in Sacramento, Wang Yi still wasn't sleepy.
He studied two games and didn't go to bed until dawn was approaching.
But after only two hours of sleep, he woke up on his own.
His body was still worn out, but he was too excited to sleep.
So he simply got up early and started his daily routine.
First, he ran ten kilometers around Golden 1 Center.
A passerby happened to spot Wang Yi and was astonished.
He filmed Wang Yi out for an early-morning run and posted the footage on social media.
He added the caption:
"He just finished playing in the Western Conference Finals last night, including overtime, then attended the press conference and returned to Sacramento. It must've been after four in the morning. And now it's only six, and he's already up. People with more talent than us work harder than us too. They don't give the rest of us a chance."
Social media platforms were trying everything they could to get attention
