Tejima Shinichi subdued the Nine-Tails and defeated Kumogakure, forcing the remaining great villages to seek subsidiary agreements with Konoha. He returned home as Tsunade prepared to put him to work handling the influx of delegates.

• Mabui reported that Ōnoki had surrendered Iwagakure to Tejima Shinichi, prompting the other great villages to reassess the balance of power.
• Tejima Shinichi warned Jiraiya that a greater threat would arrive within three years and urged him to prepare Naruto to control the Nine-Tails.
• With Jiraiya’s help, Tejima Shinichi opened Naruto’s seal, met Minato in Naruto’s consciousness, and subdued the Nine-Tails before absorbing its Chakra.
• Tejima Shinichi left Naruto and Jiraiya to train, then invaded Kumogakure to take the Chakra of Matatabi and Gyuki.

Tejima Shinichi prepared for Akatsuki’s assault while Naruto reunited with Team 7 and Gaara was abducted and rescued at the cost of Chiyo’s life. With Akatsuki turning toward Kumogakure and the Three-Tails revived, Shinichi left Konoha to act personally.

Tejima Shinichi defeated the Six Paths of Pain and brought the Three-Tails back to Konoha, where the village prepared for Akatsuki’s next move and Shinichi announced he would become Sixth Hokage. As Itachi fought Obito, Shinichi and Sasuke arrived, forcing Obito to retreat and reconsider his plans.

• Asuma’s squad encountered Konan near the Three-Tails, but Tejima Shinichi arrived and captured her before confronting Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain.
• Tejima Shinichi defeated four Paths, fought Deva Path Pain, and destroyed the battlefield with a Sage Mode attack before draining the Three-Tails and carrying it toward Konoha.
• Nagato realized Tejima Shinichi knew Akatsuki’s plan to attack Konoha and ordered Konan to help find the organization’s mole.
• At the Hokage’s Office, Kakashi and Guy reported their clashes with Akatsuki, Tsunade confirmed Itachi was Konoha’s spy, and Jiraiya identified the chief as his former student.
• Tejima Shinichi urged Jiraiya to take Naruto to Mount Myōboku and then Turtle Island, approved the Five Kage Summit, and announced he would become Sixth Hokage after returning from the past.
