Background / History
The Kindling Seed is the foundation of the Kindling Human Civilization's starship system. Legal citizens aged thirty or older may attempt awakening through a separated Kindling Source Flame, then bind their seed to a standard Scout-Type Star Sea Shuttle. Successful awakening grants access to psionic energy and begins a captain's Star Sea career 1 2.
After awakening, psionic modification transforms the user into a psionic body and opens a Kindling Ancestral Aperture in the brow. The seed resides within this aperture, where it stores and transforms the bound spacecraft into a Kindling Starship 2.
Song Chi awakened a Colorless Kindling Seed at Jiangyuan First Kindling Academy. It initially fused with a Scout-Type Star Sea Shuttle, later named Azure Sky, and was subsequently raised through increasingly rare Rank-Up Fire Sources 1 2 23.
A sunk Kindling Starship does not immediately extinguish its captain's seed. Instead, the seed enters a weakened recovery state that can last decades before the captain can bind another Scout-class shuttle and start again 37.

Psionic Energy and Starship Binding
The seed grants its awakened bearer control over psionic energy and can merge with an ordinary spacecraft to create a Kindling Starship 2.
