Background

Ning Rongrong is the young sect master and little princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, one of the Upper Three Sects. Her status is reinforced by her father, Ning Fengzhi, and the sect's two Titled Douluo pillars, Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong 19 20 37.

She arrived alone in Suotuo City and sought admission to Shrek Academy. At the entrance assessment, she drew Li Xiaoyao's attention through her distinctive pink hair and Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda Martial Soul. His casual disrespect toward the Soul Emperor Li Yusong surprised and intrigued her 6.

Initially captivated by Li Xiaoyao's appearance and uninhibited manner, she offered to pay his registration fee before learning he was Dai Mubai's invited guest. Her admiration deepened after witnessing his three-purple, one-black Soul Ring configuration 7. She soon introduced herself to him as a Rank 26 support-type Soul Master 8.

Ning Rongrong is proud, outspoken, and accustomed to the authority of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She refuses to let Shrek Academy use her status as a student to minimize Ma Hongjun's attempted assault, instead confronting Flender explicitly as the sect's Young Sect Master 20. When Ma Hongjun later tries to rob her, she again demands meaningful compensation rather than accepting a simple apology 37.

Despite her spoiled and forceful side, she is willing to work hard when motivated. She runs laps around Shrek Academy to improve her physique, embraces difficult cultivation methods, and repeatedly pursues Soul Rings beyond conventional limits 18 49 70.

Her confidence is sometimes tempered by insecurity. After learning of Li Xiaoyao's supposed connection to a deity family, she worries that her sect and status are insignificant by comparison and questions whether she is worthy of him 46. Ning Rongrong enters Shrek Academy alongside Zhu Zhuqing, Tang San, and Xiao Wu. She meets Li Xiaoyao during registration, offers to pay for him, and learns of his extraordinary Soul Rings and strength 6 7.

During the fourth entrance test, she supports Li Xiaoyao's team with pagoda buffs after his Time abilities temporarily elevate the other candidates' combat capabilities 12.

Conflict with Ma Hongjun and Shrek Academy

After Ma Hongjun attempts to force himself upon her, Ning Rongrong trains harder while relying on Li Xiaoyao to intervene. She refuses Flender's attempts to settle the matter informally and demands that Shrek Academy acknowledge the severity of the offense 18 20.

She supports Li Xiaoyao's demand for a Ten Thousand Year Soul Bone as compensation and later helps pressure Flender when Ma Hongjun attacks her again over the acquired items 22 37.

Cultivation with Li Xiaoyao

Ning Rongrong chooses to pursue rapid advancement with Li Xiaoyao rather than following Shrek Academy's ordinary routine. She undergoes physical enhancement, learns the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and rises from Rank 26 to Rank 29 within days 25 27 28.

Her cultivation progress makes Zhu Zhuqing envious and establishes Ning Rongrong as one of Li Xiaoyao's closest allies outside Shrek's original group 28.

Star Dou Great Forest Soul Ring Hunts

Ning Rongrong leaves Zhao Wuji's group with Li Xiaoyao to acquire her third Soul Ring. With his protection and her strengthened physique, she absorbs an over-limit ring and reaches Rank 35 49.

After receiving the Hundred Thousand Year Soft Bone Rabbit Arm Soul Bone, she reaches Rank 40 but needs a fourth Soul Ring. When the forest is sealed by three Titled Douluo, she initially suggests calling her sect for reinforcements before trusting Li Xiaoyao's Spatial Teleportation to bypass the blockade 68 69.

She then successfully absorbs a Ten Thousand Year fourth Soul Ring and advances to Rank 44 70.

Encounter with the Golden Generation

While leaving the forest, Ning Rongrong and Li Xiaoyao are confronted by the Martial Soul Hall's Golden Generation and their accompanying force. Li Xiaoyao identifies her publicly as his girlfriend and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's little princess, discouraging an immediate escalation 71 72.

Ning Rongrong later becomes jealous when Hu Liena shows interest in Li Xiaoyao and warns him that Hu Liena's connection to Martial Soul Hall may bring trouble 74.
