Obviously, a faction had attacked this building. Duanmu Huai judged that they were probably Rebels, because they had used Laser Weapons. These things, mockingly called "flashlights" by players, were mostly issued to ground troops and the Astra Militarum, making them the weapons Rebels could obtain most easily.
The Mechanicus Sect did not use many of them.
Judging from the wreckage, the Rebels had attacked this building and encountered fierce resistance from the Mechanicus Sect, suffering heavy losses at first. But they had not wavered. Instead, they had become even more ferocious—well, they did resemble Savage Wrath believers. Running away was impossible; only charging forward to their deaths could preserve their dignity as believers. Besides, the power of Savage Wrath lay in battle itself. The fiercer the battle and the more people who died, the stronger its power became.
Duanmu Huai had encountered a similar situation in the Novice Village. Back then, Savage Wrath believers had occupied a fortress and begun an evil blasphemous ritual there.
