"So we're sure this thing isn't some kind of Divine Beast or magical beast?"
On the way back to the Argo, Duanmu Huai contacted Rias again to ask about the situation. This Three-Headed Dragon could control lightning and storms and even regenerate. Duanmu Huai felt that this thing was completely unscientific!
The other monsters were huge, but aside from being tough, most of them were still fairly scientific.
But this one?
It had absolutely nothing to do with science anymore.
"We've already investigated it, Teacher. It truly doesn't belong to any faction."
Rias sounded rather helpless as well, but that was simply the truth. In this world, determining whether an animal was a Divine Beast or a magical beast depended on the mythological background it belonged to—and it also needed someone to claim it.
Take the Qilin, for example. Everyone knew it was a product of Eastern mythology, so all you had to do was find the gods from Eastern mythology and ask them to help resolve the matter.
The same went for dragons. For the evil dragons in Western myths and legends, you basically had to find some big shot from a Western mythological background.
This Three-Headed Dragon looked Western through and through, yet neither the Demon Realm nor the angels were willing to claim it.
"What's the reason? There has to be a reason, right?"
"Uh...it's simple. We can't communicate with it."
"You can't communicate?"
"Yes. It uses a language completely different from the ones we're familiar with. We have no idea what it's saying...so..."
"Then I'll figure something out myself."
Duanmu Huai cut off the communication speechlessly. It seemed that it wasn't that the gods and demons didn't want to deal with this thing, but that it was completely outside their jurisdiction?
But how was that possible?
