For investigators, one of the most troublesome situations they could face was being outnumbered.
For example, an investigator might go alone or with a few companions to investigate a place, only to discover that everyone there had become followers of an Evil God, or had even been corrupted by it and transformed into hideous monsters. The entire area would be occupied and sealed off by these monsters, while the investigator, unable to fight against superior numbers, would either be captured by the locals and made into a sacrifice or have to rely on stealth, lockpicking, and luck to secretly escape that place of trouble.
But, just as all problems were ultimately energy problems, all the dangers investigators faced ultimately came down to four words—insufficient firepower.

That was right, there were several hundred Rabbitfolk here. They had long since been corrupted by an Evil God and had completely turned into grotesque creatures that were neither human nor beast. They possessed rabbits' leaping ability, beastlike teeth, and tremendous strength, but... none of that was useful against Duanmu Huai!
