The proposal was approved, and then came the investors. Duanmu Huai hadn't gone for exclusive investment this time, but he still held the largest share. The film's budget had jumped straight from one billion to 1.8 billion. At this rate, even two billion might not be enough once post-production began.
But it didn't matter. Duanmu Huai had money, and he was feeling capricious. He simply wanted to go all out!
For an ordinary film company, making a major production was an extremely risky undertaking. After all, if they couldn't recoup the costs, they would be finished. But most of the money Duanmu Huai was spending came from his own pocket. For him, the goal of this film wasn't profit, but how explosively popular it would become and the impression his character would leave on the audience.
That was right. This was exactly what Duanmu Huai was after. He wouldn't even blink at throwing two billion into it.
With the investment settled, the next step was casting.
Since the film was essentially a sci-fi action movie with horror elements, much like Resident Evil, the actors needed to be able to run, jump, and fight. Actors with a background in combat were naturally given priority. Thus, Himekawa Daiki, who had previously worked with Duanmu Huai on Tokyo BLADE, was selected as the male lead, while Arima Kana and Kurokawa Akane each received supporting roles.
Even Ruby and the others were arranged into the film at Duanmu Huai's personal insistence, appearing in a few minor scenes. The film was divided into a pre-disaster and post-disaster setting. At the beginning, Ruby's B Komachi could appear in a bustling, unaffected world as an idol group, showing up in several shots. In the post-disaster world, however, they would transform into mutant monster bosses and obstruct the
