Time flew like an arrow, and time passed like a shuttle.
"Phew..."
When the girl opened her eyes again, she found herself staring at a familiar ceiling.
"Good morning, Inquisitor Lord."
At the sound of her voice, D saw a purple-haired girl standing there, her hair tied into a looped side ponytail on the right. She quietly watched D.
"Mm... good morning, Rumiere."
As she spoke, D yawned, then sat up and began changing clothes.
Sixty years had passed since her conversation with Regina that day.
Those sixty years had not been especially difficult for D. During the first twenty, she had led Night City's army in expanding their territory, driven back the Electronic Devils, reclaimed the cities humanity had lost, and used them as bases for further expansion. She had also successfully defeated the ten powerful Electronic Devils known as the Ten Disasters. Under D's leadership, humanity, which had once stood on the brink of extinction, rose again. Relying on the demon-summoning program known as "PERSONA," they routed the army of Electronic Devils threatening the human world.
As for the Cyberpsychos? Well... D had never intended to send troops to fight them. She simply left them to fend for themselves. As D had expected, most Cyberpsychos wiped themselves out within just a few years. This was only natural. Cyberpsychos were mentally deranged, but they were still living people. They needed food and water, and their cybernetics required maintenance. A mentally unstable, aggressive madman obviously could not survive long without food.
So D's solution was to set aside the cities overrun with Cyberpsychos and focus on dealing with the Electronic Devils. By the time she finished with the Electronic Devils and turned back, those Cyberpsychos had either died of thirst, starvation, or infection. After all, they were merely madmen, not
