Ch. 182Attack!

Duanmu Huai led the Night Watch, Angels, and Guardians into the Oblivion Realm and fought through Morag Bal’s forces. After the Voice of Truth destroyed Morag Bal’s palace and survived his counterattack, Duanmu Huai judged the Daedric Prince to be a beatable foe and ordered the ship’s main gun to fire.

  • Duanmu Huai and his allies entered the Oblivion Realm and fought the Demon Soldiers and monsters gathered there.
  • Duanmu Huai summoned the Night Watch and the Voice of Truth, while the Guardians joined the battle and Kade 6 helped defeat the Demons.
  • Duanmu Huai ordered the Voice of Truth to bombard the Black Fortress and Morag Bal’s palace, destroying both and drawing out the Daedric Prince.
  • Morag Bal hurled the palace ruins at the Voice of Truth, but the ship’s Void Shield protected it from the impact.
  • Duanmu Huai assessed Morag Bal’s strength and ordered the Voice of Truth to lock on with its main gun and fire.

Ch. 183Duel

Duanmu Huai blasted Morag’s fortress with the BFG10000, then fought the Daedric Prince directly after Morag revealed he was immortal in Coldharbour. Duanmu Huai struck Morag with a surprise chainsaw attack, leaving the duel at a decisive moment.

  • Duanmu Huai fired the BFG10000 at Morag, destroying the Black Fortress and palace and carving a massive crater into Coldharbour.
  • Morag appeared unharmed, declared himself immortal in his realm, and sent Demon Soldiers to attack Duanmu Huai’s forces.
  • Duanmu Huai summoned wyverns and donned the Mobile Armor while Lorena and the angels empowered him with divine blessings.
  • Duanmu Huai charged Morag and shattered his right hand with a blow from the Thunder Warhammer, but Morag broke Duanmu Huai’s weapon and twisted his arm.
  • Morag reached through Duanmu Huai’s chest but found nothing, allowing Duanmu Huai to draw his Chainsaw Sword and cleave Morag’s head open.

Ch. 185Godslayer

Duanmu Huai killed Morag Bal permanently, claimed his divine power, and reshaped Oblivion into an Inquisition stronghold. He freed the souls trapped in Morag’s domain, gained the Vampires’ allegiance, and prepared to find new followers.

  • Duanmu Huai used the Chainsaw Sword to kill Morag Bal, whose power and body crumbled away under the force of true death.
  • Duanmu Huai gained the Demon God's Heart, Lesser Divine Power, the Fear domain, and a follower-wide Intimidation bonus.
  • Duanmu Huai reshaped the Oblivion Realm into a Gothic church space station that would serve as a transit point and training ground for the Inquisition Army.
  • Duanmu Huai released the souls enslaved by Morag, sending willing souls onward and burning those guilty of heinous crimes.
  • The Vampire Queen reunited with Banbi and agreed that the Vampires would remain and serve the Inquisition.
  • Duanmu Huai decided to build his reputation and recruit followers, having already chosen a target.

Ch. 186Final Ultimatum

After Morag Bal’s death shook the continent, Duanmu Huai delivered the Aldmeri Dominion a surrender ultimatum and displayed the destruction of its army. The elves withdrew to Summerset Isle, leaving their decision uncertain, while Duanmu Huai believed their fate was already sealed.

  • Morag Bal’s death darkened the sky, shattered his statues, and drove his followers mad as the gods remained silent.
  • Duanmu Huai entered Alinor’s Royal Court and demanded that Queen Ayrenn return the Dominion’s lands beyond Summerset Isle, abolish the Platinum Treaty, and compensate human victims.
  • Duanmu Huai revealed the heads of Elven soldiers and warned Queen Ayrenn that the Inquisition would destroy Summerset Isle if the elves refused to surrender.
  • An Elven woman attacked Duanmu Huai, who killed her before leaving the Royal Court; Queen Ayrenn ordered an investigation into the expeditionary army.
  • The Empire and Aldmeri Dominion learned that the Inquisition had annihilated seventy thousand Elven troops, and the Dominion withdrew its elite forces to Summerset Isle.

Ch. 187Formation

Duanmu Huai established the Inquisition’s first stronghold in Hammerfell Province and defined its mission as protecting humanity, independent of the Empire. He told Titus Mede II that the Inquisition would keep fighting Elven sovereignty, and the chapter ended as the Elves appeared to have made their choice.

  • Duanmu Huai chose Hammerfell Province for the Inquisition’s first stronghold because its people continued resisting the Elves after the Empire signed the Platinum Treaty.
  • Duanmu Huai entrusted the stronghold to the Night Watch, and Redguard Warriors joined the Inquisition to fight the Elves.
  • Duanmu Huai established the Inquisition’s Holy Book around protecting humanity and gave it a warhammer statue that granted a damage bonus against nonhuman races.
  • Duanmu Huai explained to Titus Mede II that the Inquisition served humanity rather than the Empire and would destroy threats regardless of the Empire’s political interests.
  • Duanmu Huai declared Elven sovereignty an enemy of humanity and observed that the Elves had made their choice.

Ch. 188Judgment Descends

Queen Ayrenn rejected the Inquisition’s terms, and Duanmu Huai ordered a bombardment that destroyed Summerset Isle and killed its inhabitants. The Night Watch also crushed the Aldmeri Dominion’s forces in Valenwood and Elsweyr, and Duanmu Huai returned to Manaria after leaving troops behind.

  • Queen Ayrenn refused to surrender and ordered the Elves to activate their Magic Barrier and prepare for battle.
  • Duanmu Huai ordered the Voice of Truth to bombard Summerset Isle, shattering its barrier and reducing its cities, forests, and mountains to ruins.
  • Duanmu Huai’s final strike broke Summerset Isle apart and sank it beneath the sea, killing Queen Ayrenn and the island’s inhabitants.
  • Duanmu Huai ordered the Night Watch to destroy the Aldmeri Dominion, and its forces killed the lords and armies in Valenwood and Elsweyr.
  • The Aldmeri Dominion collapsed, Valenwood and Elsweyr formed new governments, and Duanmu Huai left several hundred Night Watch members behind before returning to Manaria.

Ch. 189Preparation

Duanmu Huai expanded his fleet by trading warships with the Guardian Civilization and acquired Reassembly technology that could restore his puppet-crewed ships within the flagship’s anchored domain. As the fleet prepared to return to Novice Village, he discussed Odel’s dull manner with Okegis, whose reading suggested he should make Odel his woman.

  • Duanmu Huai reviewed the Inquisition’s growth and the Guardian Civilization’s orders for three warships, which it would pay for with resources.
  • Duanmu Huai learned that Guardian Reassembly disassembled and reconstructed beings, then realized he could use psychic power and his flagship as a projection core to restore puppet-crewed warships.
  • Duanmu Huai noted that his fleet would soon be ready to return to Novice Village and hoped it had survived the Chaos attack.
  • Odel brought Duanmu Huai tea, and he dismissed her as beautiful but boring before asking Okegis what she thought of her.
  • Okegis said Duanmu Huai’s appearance made him frightening and suggested making Odel his woman after quoting a romance story, prompting him to question what she had been reading.

Ch. 190Odel's Melancholy

Odel struggled to find a purpose as Duanmu Huai’s personal maid, so she began studying astronomy to understand the vast world around him. Meanwhile, Kade 6 asked Duanmu Huai to help respond to an invasion of the prison holding a Fallen Baron, and Duanmu Huai agreed to go without showing mercy.

  • Odel worried that her broken engagement had left her without a future or a meaningful role as Duanmu Huai’s personal maid.
  • Odel reflected on how little she knew about the universe and decided to study the astronomy book she had borrowed from the library.
  • Kade 6 told Duanmu Huai that the Elder Prison holding a Fallen Baron had been invaded by people seeking to free him.
  • Duanmu Huai criticized the Guardians for keeping the Fallen alive and suggested destroying the prison instead.
  • Duanmu Huai agreed to accompany Kade 6, warning that he would show no mercy.

Ch. 191The Forgotten Race

Duanmu Huai, Okegis, Kade 6, and Petra Wanji responded to a prison riot at Elder Prison, fighting escaped prisoners while trying to preserve the facility’s security system. After an explosion disabled security on the lowest deck, Duanmu Huai and Okegis jumped down to face hundreds of Fallen and their cloaked leader.

  • Kade 6 introduced Petra Wanji as an Awakened, and she demonstrated her ability to levitate a dagger.
  • Duanmu Huai and Okegis fought escaped prisoners while Kade 6 and Petra Wanji went to stabilize the security system.
  • An explosion disabled security on the lower levels, prompting Duanmu Huai to head down with Okegis.
  • Duanmu Huai jumped to the lowest deck and found hundreds of Fallen surrounding him and Okegis, with a cloaked man among them.
  • The Fallen charged, and Duanmu Huai leaped toward them with his warhammer.

Ch. 192Victory or Defeat

Duanmu Huai fought off the Fallen Barons in the Elder Prison, shrugging off their weapons and explosives while defeating their strongest fighters. A falling stone platform crushed the remaining enemies, and Kade 6 revived beneath the wreckage and arrived after the battle was over.

  • Duanmu Huai charged into the Fallen Barons and killed one of their heavily armored leaders with his Thunder Warhammer.
  • Duanmu Huai endured gunfire, cannon blasts, grenades, and a Flame Meteor Hammer, then used his power to drag a grenade-wielding Fallen Baron into an explosion and kill him.
  • A Fallen Baron tried to threaten Okegis, but Duanmu Huai stopped him before he could finish speaking.
  • A cloaked Awakened attacked Duanmu Huai with Psychic Power, but Duanmu Huai repelled the force and knocked him to the ground.
  • Duanmu Huai grabbed Okegis and dodged as a stone platform fell, then used a freezing storm to trap the Fallen Barons beneath it.
  • Kade 6 revived under the shattered platform and arrived to find Duanmu Huai had already won.

Ch. 193Return

Duanmu Huai returned to Novice Planet, checked on Elisa, and learned that the Empire and its neighbors were facing attacks from Chaos and other enemies. Karl Franz told him the Chaos army’s new campaign might be connected to the Everchosen, Archaon.

  • Duanmu Huai returned to Novice Planet and saw Elisa living peacefully in Carcassonne while Mordheim was being rebuilt under heavy guard.
  • Duanmu Huai visited Altdorf and reunited with General Paster, who explained how the Emperor’s reforms had stabilized the Empire after the princes’ betrayal.
  • General Paster told Duanmu Huai that Chaos had invaded the north, Kislev had collapsed, Bartonia had suffered civil war, and Skaven were attacking the Empire’s southern territories.
  • Duanmu Huai met Karl Franz, who said the Chaos army’s recent changes might be connected to the Everchosen, Archaon.

Ch. 194Main Quest

Duanmu Huai learned that Archaon’s Chaos forces were gathering while the Empire’s potential allies were divided or unable to help. The Emperor asked him to intervene in Bartonia’s rebellion, and Duanmu Huai assembled a small group to investigate as the End Times quest began.

  • The Emperor told Duanmu Huai that Archaon had united Chaos armies in the north, while the Elves and Dwarfs were distracted by internal disputes and Kislev had only remnants of its army.
  • The Emperor explained that Marobaud had rebelled in Bartonia with support from three dukes, while King Louen and the Lake Fairy had disappeared; he asked Duanmu Huai to intervene as a Grail Knight.
  • The Emperor also reported that the Great Horned Rat had killed a Grey Seer and appointed a Plague Lord to unite the Skaven Ratmen.
  • Duanmu Huai rejected Kade 6’s suggestion to use orbital bombardment immediately and decided to keep the warship’s power hidden until the Chaos army launched its full invasion.
  • Banbi and Lorena volunteered to accompany Duanmu Huai, and Odel insisted on joining as his personal maid; Duanmu Huai accepted them and viewed the Main Quest: End Times prompt.

Ch. 195Attack

Duanmu Huai attacked Mousillon to find Marobaud, but learned that the rebel leader was fighting at Montfort after discovering the Lady of the Lake’s alleged deception. Duanmu Huai headed north to confront him.

  • Duanmu Huai decided to deal with the rebel leader Marobaud quickly before turning his attention to the Skaven Ratmen.
  • Duanmu Huai, Lorena, Banbi, and Odel flew to Mousillon aboard dragons and burned its castle.
  • Duanmu Huai captured Mousillon’s lord, Okasen, who revealed that Marobaud was fighting at Montfort and claimed the Lady of the Lake served the Elves.
  • Okasen claimed Marobaud had learned that the Elves planned to abandon the world and use Bartonian knights to guard their new homeland.
  • Duanmu Huai crushed Okasen’s head and led the group north toward Montfort.

Ch. 196Plague

Duanmu Huai left Bartonia’s civil war to investigate the Rat Plague in the Southern Territories, where he found a devastated city and a populace turning against Sigmar’s priest. After rescuing the priest from a mob, he learned that the crisis was more complicated than he expected.

  • The Green Knight killed Marobaud, and Bartonia’s King promised to send reinforcements to the Empire after the civil war.
  • Duanmu Huai left the Green Knight to handle Bartonia’s aftermath and led his companions to the plague-stricken Southern Territories.
  • Duanmu Huai explained to Banbi and Lorena that the Ratmen spread disease to overwhelm a city’s ability to treat the sick.
  • A mob attacked a priest of Sigmar, blaming him and his god for the plague and the deaths in the city.
  • Duanmu Huai drove the mob away, then questioned the priest about his presence in the Southern Territories and suggested they talk somewhere else.

Ch. 197Omen of the Plague

Duanmu Huai learned that the plague had spread through the Southern Territories while Ratmen assassinated its leaders and destabilized its cities. After suggesting Four Thieves Vinegar as a possible remedy, he and his companions continued toward the central region to assess the worsening crisis.

  • A Sigmar priest told Duanmu Huai that people had blamed him for bringing the plague after it broke out, and that several Southern Territories lords and officials had died suddenly.
  • Duanmu Huai advised the priest to brew Four Thieves Vinegar from parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme, and the priest agreed to try it.
  • The priest reported that the Religious Inquisition was tracking a pair of siblings, including a younger brother rumored to carry Evil God Bloodline and to have caused the plague and Rat Plague.
  • Lorena and Odel suspected the younger brother was being made a scapegoat, while Duanmu Huai said the Ratmen's plague required treatment beyond their abilities.
  • Duanmu Huai decided that the group would travel to the central region to see how far the plague had spread.

Ch. 198Rat Plague

Duanmu Huai and his companions encountered plague-infected pigs that burst open into swarms of intelligent rats, which he drove off with Soul Flame and incendiary grenades. After camping for the night, he dreamed of a ruined city and a giant rat that collapsed when it met his gaze, then accepted the apparent challenge.

  • Duanmu Huai and his companions found heaps of dead pigs along the road, and rats erupted from one carcass and charged at them.
  • Duanmu Huai burned the rats with Soul Flame and incendiary grenades until the surviving swarm fled into the forest.
  • Duanmu Huai built a reinforced shelter, and the group ate dinner and rested there for the night.
  • Duanmu Huai awoke in a dream amid the ruins of a destroyed city, where countless rats gathered into a horned giant rat.
  • Duanmu Huai stared down the giant rat until it collapsed, then woke beside the extinguished campfire and accepted the challenge.

Ch. 199Secret Passage

Duanmu Huai changed course to evade Great Horned Rat’s surveillance and used a secret passage through the World Shard to reach a vast underground world. There, he and the girls encountered armored Ratmen who challenged them for entering their kingdom.

  • Duanmu Huai realized Great Horned Rat was watching them and decided to travel through the World Shard instead of heading to a city.
  • Duanmu Huai opened a changing room so the girls could check for hidden rats, and Okegis found one in Miss Odel’s skirt.
  • Duanmu Huai led the group through a Teleportation Gate, while a hidden rat was caught in an explosion that collapsed the passage.
  • The group emerged into a vast underground cavern filled with prehistoric plants and a giant glowing tree.
  • A group of armored Ratmen confronted Duanmu Huai and the girls, demanding to know why they had entered their kingdom.

Ch. 200Golden Tree

  • Duanmu Huai’s group encountered clean, white-furred Ratmen, who fled when he approached, and continued through the forest toward the Golden Tree.
  • Lorena spotted a monastery on a hillside, but a golden knight charged Duanmu Huai; Duanmu Huai defeated him, and the knight and his warhorse vanished into dust.
  • Banbi recalled that Queen had mentioned a powerful underground world containing a Golden Tree, and Duanmu Huai suspected the place’s destruction might be connected to the Skaven Ratmen.
  • Duanmu Huai’s group reached the ruined monastery and settled in to rest as the light dimmed.
  • Duanmu Huai called out someone following them, and Milfie, Princess of the Spirit Rat Clan, emerged and asked why they had entered the cursed place.

Ch. 201Forest Princess

Duanmu Huai learned how the Golden Clan’s broken Golden Law had cursed the Interlands and suspected the ruined world was connected to the Great Horned Rat and the Skaven Ratmen. Mistreena offered to guide him to the Golden Tree, and Milfie agreed to accompany her.

  • Milfie told Duanmu Huai’s group that the Golden Tree had once blessed the races of the Interlands, but the Golden Clan’s rise and the shattering of the Golden Law brought war, madness, and an infectious curse.
  • Milfie urged the Travelers to leave, but Duanmu Huai refused and suspected the Golden Tree held clues to the Interlands’ destruction and the Skaven Ratmen’s origins.
  • Mistreena emerged from the forest and asked to join Duanmu Huai’s journey to the Golden Tree so she could seek answers from Mother Earth.
  • Mistreena persuaded Milfie to come along, and Milfie agreed.

Ch. 202Entering

Duanmu Huai’s group traveled through the Interlands, fighting cursed Golden Clan soldiers who revived after death. They stopped for the night in a ruined hut, where they encountered a mysterious woman.

  • Lorena asked Duanmu Huai whether all Princesses were as willful as Mistreena, and Mistreena explained the Forest Clan’s belief that Mother Earth was the world’s true creator.
  • Duanmu Huai’s group fought and defeated attacking Golden Clan soldiers, while Mistreena showed her skill with a shield and longsword.
  • Mistreena described how the previous exploration team discovered that defeated soldiers revived and eventually split over whether to press onward or retreat.
  • Duanmu Huai stopped the group beneath the city as evening storms grew violent and led them to a ruined hut for the night.
  • A woman inside the hut agreed to let the Travelers stay, saying she was only a passerby herself.
