Ch. 162Stealth (There Don't Seem to Be Any New Games This Month)

Duanmu Huai confronted Gureiya over her divided loyalties and the danger Dragon Shout could pose to humanity. Gureiya chose not to learn the power, but Duanmu Huai then led the Dark Night Watch in a covert assault on North Tower Fortress.

  • Duanmu Huai explained that Regnis's hardliners threatened humanity and pressed Gureiya to choose where she stood.
  • Gureiya decided not to seek out Greybeard or learn Dragon Shout, fearing the dragons would use it to attack humanity.
  • Duanmu Huai took Gureiya with him to North Tower Fortress, where Thalmor Elves imprisoned Rebels and criminals.
  • Duanmu Huai ordered the Dark Night Watch to kill every nonhuman in the fortress and leave no witnesses.
  • The Dark Night Watch released sleeping gas over North Tower Fortress, and Duanmu Huai crashed through its walls before ordering his troops to begin.

Ch. 163Commission from the Lord (This Cat Is Starting to Pack on Winter Fat)

Duanmu Huai explained that the Inquisition’s attacks on Thalmor strongholds were meant to provoke the Thalmor into war, while keeping the Empire uninvolved. After Falkreath’s lord hired him to investigate disappearances and a murder in Lokes Town, Duanmu Huai accepted a quest that hinted at a hidden danger there.

  • Prisoners vanished from North Tower Fortress, and Thalmor strongholds across Skyrim Province were destroyed, prompting rumors of divine intervention and demands from the Thalmor ambassador.
  • Duanmu Huai told Gureiya that the attacks were bait to draw the Thalmor into war and that the Inquisition would not align itself with the Empire.
  • A bard sang a popular song celebrating the destruction of the Thalmor outposts, and the tavern patrons cheered.
  • The tavern owner summoned Duanmu Huai to meet Sidgeir, Falkreath’s lord, who described missing corpses and people in Lokes Town and the murder of his uncle.
  • Sidgeir offered Duanmu Huai land and a barony if he investigated the incidents, and Duanmu Huai accepted the contract with Gureiya.
  • Duanmu Huai received the hidden quest “Dark Haze,” which tasked him with investigating the secret in Lokes Town.

Ch. 164The Gloomy Shadow (This Cat Is Rolling Around Biting Its Tail)

Duanmu Huai and Gureiya reached the frightened town of Lokes and forced their way into Old Bent’s home to learn what had happened. After hearing about unexplained deaths, missing corpses, and attacks from the fog, Duanmu Huai decided to investigate the graveyard.

  • Old Bent feared the deserted town’s gloomy atmosphere before a traveler knocked at his door.
  • Duanmu Huai forced his way inside with Gureiya and convinced Old Bent they had come to investigate on Frederick Lord’s orders.
  • Old Bent told Duanmu Huai that carpenter Carl had died suddenly, followed by Carl’s wife, her friend, and the friend’s mother.
  • Old Bent recounted how miners encountered the buried dead, whose bodies had vanished from coffins with tunnels beneath them.
  • Old Bent described patrol members being dragged away in the fog and a guard leader being killed in his sleep.
  • Duanmu Huai decided to go to the graveyard with Gureiya.

Ch. 165Graveyard Fright

Duanmu Huai investigated the graveyard with Gureiya and Old Bent, discovering that nearly every coffin had been emptied through underground tunnels. When they opened the Priest’s coffin, swarms of rats poured from his corpse and the surrounding graves, and Gureiya’s burst of dragon fire triggered a collapse that swallowed them all.

  • Duanmu Huai examined the four robbed graves and found tunnels leading into their empty coffins.
  • Duanmu Huai dug open more than ten nearby graves and discovered that their bodies and bones were also gone.
  • Duanmu Huai opened a coffin containing the missing Priest’s corpse, from which a rat crawled out.
  • Hundreds of rats poured from the Priest and nearby graves, while more swarmed from the surrounding tunnels.
  • Gureiya unleashed dragon fire into the grave, setting the rats and Priest’s corpse ablaze.
  • Gureiya’s flames surged underground, splitting the graveyard into a massive pit that swallowed Duanmu Huai, Gureiya, and Old Bent.

Ch. 166Ancient Tomb Demon Shadow

After falling into an ancient Nord cemetery, Duanmu Huai, Gureiya, and Old Bent fought through its undead guardians and discovered a blood ritual beneath the town. Duanmu Huai burst into the chamber and charged the black-robed worshippers as Gureiya was told to protect Old Bent.

  • Duanmu Huai used his Jetpack to carry Old Bent and Gureiya safely to the bottom of the collapsed ground, where they found an ancient cemetery.
  • Duanmu Huai led the group through the cemetery, and Gureiya struck the first Undead Soldier with her tail, awakening the others.
  • Duanmu Huai and Gureiya defeated the surrounding Undead Soldiers, helping Gureiya regain her composure.
  • Gureiya smelled blood as the group reached a locked stone door, which Duanmu Huai smashed open with a Jetpack-assisted charge.
  • Duanmu Huai found black-robed figures performing a bloody ritual around a crimson crystal and charged them while telling Gureiya to protect Old Bent.

Ch. 167Prisoner

Duanmu Huai stormed the vampires’ ritual hall, destroyed the undead forces and their leader, and rescued the imprisoned Stendarr’s Vigilant Gurei Paste. After learning the vampires had tried to alter Azura’s Star, he decided to take the artifact to Azura for purification.

  • Duanmu Huai smashed into the ritual hall and killed the worshippers and black hounds, disrupting the ritual and dimming the Blood-Red Crystal.
  • The black-robed leader raised an army of undead and transformed villagers, including Carl, but Duanmu Huai burned them with Soul Flame and smashed the leader’s head with his warhammer.
  • Gureiya and Old Bent entered the hall, and Duanmu Huai found Gurei Paste imprisoned in a cell.
  • Gurei Paste identified the artifact as Azura’s Star and explained that the vampires had planned to transform it into a special container, though he did not know their ultimate goal.
  • Duanmu Huai picked up Azura’s Star and agreed to take it to Azura so she could purify it.

Ch. 168Unexpected Intelligence

Duanmu Huai learned from Azura that the Vampires’ ritual supported a plan by the Daedric Princes, World Eater Alduin, and the escaped soul of Fafnir to open a passage to Manaria. He set out with the Vigilant to warn the Hall of the Vigilant and his companions, while preparing to stop Alduin before the passage opened.

  • Duanmu Huai returned Azura’s Star to the priestess at Azura’s Altar and heard Azura explain that the Vampires had altered the artifact to control souls.
  • Azura told Duanmu Huai that Alduin planned to resurrect Fafnir and use it to open a passage to another realm, while the Daedric Princes prepared to join the effort.
  • Azura said Gureiya’s Dragonborn power could end Alduin, and Duanmu Huai explained the threat to Gureiya and the Vigilant.
  • Duanmu Huai contacted Ann, Lorena, and Okegis through his Soul Card and told them about Fafnir, Alduin, and the Daedric Princes’ plan.
  • Lorena reported that Heaven could not send many angelic legions, so Duanmu Huai prepared to face threats in both the physical world and the Planes of Oblivion.

Ch. 169A Change of Appearance

After learning about Alduin, the Daedric Princes, and the Vampire conspiracy, Duanmu Huai used an Equipment Shader to repaint his armor as a grinning pink-and-white rabbit. The group reached the burning Hall of the Vigilant, where Vampires attacked and Duanmu Huai charged into battle.

  • Azura told Duanmu Huai about Alduin’s return and the Daedric Princes’ threat, while he planned to pursue the Vampires and stop their conspiracy.
  • Lorena traveled Skyrim Province to contact the local gods and investigate the Dragon Cult, while Ann searched the Winterhold College library for information.
  • Duanmu Huai completed the first phase of the hidden quest, received a Random Gift Box, and obtained an Equipment Shader.
  • Duanmu Huai repainted his armor and Thunder Warhammer in a rabbit-and-carrot design, alarming Gureiya and the Vigilant.
  • The group saw the Hall of the Vigilant burning and hurried toward it, where Blood Hounds and Vampires attacked them.
  • Duanmu Huai charged the Vampires and smashed several with his carrot-painted warhammer as Gureiya watched in horror.

Ch. 170Twilight Guard

After the Hall of the Vigilant was destroyed, Duanmu Huai and Gulei sought help from the Twilight Guard and learned of a vampire lead at Dark Hollow. Duanmu Huai also considered rebuilding the Vigilant as a recruitment base, but his attempt to negotiate with Stendarr ended in a clash, leaving him determined to pursue his own path.

  • Duanmu Huai and Gulei visited the Twilight Guard after vampires destroyed the Hall of the Vigilant, and Isran revealed that vampires were searching for an ancient artifact in Dark Hollow near Dawnstar City.
  • Isran agreed to send Duanmu Huai and Gureiya to investigate, while Gulei stayed behind to rest before setting out with them.
  • Duanmu Huai told Gureiya he planned to rebuild an organization like the Vigilant and recruit warriors whose souls could join his ghostly legion after death.
  • Duanmu Huai used a statue of Stendarr to contact the god and ask for heroic spirits, but Stendarr refused and dismissed his plan.
  • Duanmu Huai broke off the conversation, emerged from his room amid an explosion, and vowed to become powerful enough to challenge the gods himself.

Ch. 171I Found a... (It's Snowing Heavily Today)

Duanmu Huai and his companions searched the Dark Cave Tomb for an artifact the vampires were seeking. After ambushing the vampires at the altar, they opened the sealed pillar and found a young girl and an Elder Scroll inside.

  • Duanmu Huai killed the vampires guarding the cave and learned they had been ordered to find something imprisoned in the tomb.
  • Duanmu Huai hid with Gureiya and the Vigilant while the remaining vampires investigated the underground altar.
  • A vampire triggered the altar’s blood mechanism and died, allowing the others to open the sealed pillar.
  • Duanmu Huai ambushed and killed the vampires as they prepared to open the pillar.
  • Duanmu Huai opened the pillar and found a young girl inside, while the Vigilant recognized the scroll on her back as an Elder Scroll.

Ch. 172Princess of the Night

Duanmu Huai and his companions discovered Banbi, a vampire princess who had slept for over five hundred years, sealed in a tomb. They learned that she wanted to return to her queen at Blenbania, so they set out to escort her there, still unsure how her kind differed from modern vampires.

  • Banbi awoke in the tomb and called herself a vampire princess, while the Vigilant attacked her and Duanmu Huai stopped the fight.
  • Duanmu Huai questioned Banbi and concluded she had slept for at least five hundred years because she knew nothing of the Empire, Skyrim Province, or the Nine Divines.
  • Banbi said the Elder Scroll on her back belonged to Queen and described Blenbania, leading the group to plan a journey to the castle rumored to lie northwest of Solitude.
  • Banbi walked in sunlight without discomfort, looked healthy, and declared Duanmu Huai her first servant as the group left the tomb.
  • Banbi asked for ordinary food and explained that vampires could eat it, though drinking blood was necessary for them to unleash their full strength.

Ch. 173Things Are Not What They Used to Be

Duanmu Huai and his companions reached Burenbarnia Castle with Banbi, hoping to learn what had happened to her kingdom. Inside, they found Vampires feasting on humans, and their leader claimed the Queen and the castle’s former inhabitants were gone.

  • Banbi described the Vampires of her era and recalled waking from a five-hundred-year sleep after the Queen had sealed her in a stone pillar with an Elder Scroll.
  • Duanmu Huai, Gureiya, Banbi, and the Watcher crossed the barren grounds to Burenbarnia Castle and entered after its gates opened by themselves.
  • A butler led the group into a banquet hall, where they saw human bodies laid out as food for the assembled Vampires.
  • The Vampire leader welcomed Banbi back and claimed he had prepared the dinner for her, prompting Banbi to demand to know who he was and where the Queen had gone.
  • The leader said the Queen had disappeared, declared that the Vampires would rule the world, and ominously told Banbi that the former inhabitants were all there but she would never see them again.

Ch. 174Blown Apart

Duanmu Huai and Gureiya slaughtered the vampires who had trapped them in the castle, then Duanmu Huai pursued their leader to an altar. After destroying the blood-made hand and the God Statue, he captured the terrified vampire and prepared to question him.

  • Duanmu Huai blinded the vampires with a flashbang and burned the dining hall with holy Soul Flame while Gureiya blocked the entrance with dragon fire.
  • Duanmu Huai pursued the middle-aged vampire into a corridor and found him injured and crawling toward an altar bearing a God Statue.
  • A giant hand made of blood erupted from the Blood Pool and attacked Duanmu Huai, who shattered it with his warhammer and destroyed the statue.
  • Duanmu Huai grabbed the vampire by the head and told him they could now talk.

Ch. 175History

Duanmu Huai learned that a king had destroyed the Vampire clan in pursuit of immortality, then heard from Ann that the powerful artifact Magnus' Eye had been found beneath a dungeon. The chapter ended with Duanmu Huai deciding to go to Winterhold Academy the next day to see it.

  • Duanmu Huai interrogated the man, who revealed that a god-demon had helped the king breach the Vampire Kingdom's barrier and slaughter its inhabitants.
  • Duanmu Huai sent Gureiya to comfort Banbi, then killed the man after hearing his plan to capture the missing princess and create a new Vampire clan.
  • Duanmu Huai blamed the god-demon for corrupting the king and ordered the castle's corpses burned while Gureiya stayed with the sleeping Banbi.
  • Ann contacted Duanmu Huai and told him that the academy had found Magnus' Eye beneath a dungeon.
  • Duanmu Huai recognized the artifact and decided to travel to Winterhold Academy the next day.

Ch. 176First Courtesy, Then Force

Duanmu Huai flew to the College of Mages in Winterhold to recover Magnus' Eye, an artifact connected to the Primarchs. After he claimed it, a High Elf demanded access to Night Raven Black Star, leaving Duanmu Huai angered by the challenge.

  • Duanmu Huai left the Watcher behind and took Gureiya and Banbi toward Winterhold aboard Night Raven Black Star, cheering Banbi with the flight.
  • Duanmu Huai landed outside the College of Mages and told Gureiya and Banbi to wait while he went inside.
  • Savos Aren greeted Duanmu Huai, who identified himself as an Inquisitor and asked to recover the Inquisition's property.
  • Duanmu Huai found Magnus' Eye in the Hall of the Elements and used his psychic power to shrink it into his hand.
  • Duanmu Huai thanked Savos and offered the college a favor, but a High Elf asked him to let the mages study Night Raven Black Star.

Ch. 177Unexpected Encounter

Duanmu Huai killed a High Elf, gave the College of Mages a Hand Cannon, and soon faced Alduin in the sky. After Alduin destroyed the Night Raven Black Star, Duanmu Huai and his companions attacked and wounded the dragon, sending him plunging toward the earth.

  • Duanmu Huai shot the disrespectful High Elf and gave the Chief Mage the Hand Cannon Midnight Coup before leaving the College of Mages.
  • Duanmu Huai discussed with Ann how the College of Mages could study the Hand Cannon while the scholars of Manaria studied advanced technology.
  • Alduin ambushed the Night Raven Black Star, and his attack warped the airship until Duanmu Huai, Gureiya, and Banbi escaped before it exploded.
  • Duanmu Huai recognized Alduin and charged him, hurling the Thunder Warhammer into the dragon's throat to interrupt his Dragon Shout.
  • Gureiya struck Alduin and Banbi sent bats at his mouth while Duanmu Huai climbed onto his back and cut through his skin and bones with the Chainsaw Sword.
  • Alduin screamed in pain and lost his balance, plummeting toward the earth.

Ch. 178Defeat (Time to Get a New Computer...)

Duanmu Huai and his allies defeated Alduin by crippling his ability to fly and run, then exploiting his blindness and injuries to kill him. Duanmu Huai gained new abilities and a Dragon Transformation Power card.

  • Duanmu Huai severed Alduin’s wing and damaged his throat, while Gureiya and Banbi distracted and attacked him.
  • Duanmu Huai used the Chainsaw Sword to injure Alduin’s hind leg, leaving the dragon unable to flee by air or ground.
  • Gureiya feinted and Banbi’s bats blocked Alduin’s vision as Duanmu Huai attacked his right foreclaw.
  • Duanmu Huai leaped from Alduin’s claw and drove the Chainsaw Sword into his head, killing him.
  • Alduin’s death strengthened Duanmu Huai and Gureiya, and Duanmu Huai received the Dragon Transformation Power Soul Card.

Ch. 179Massacre Them to the Last

After defeating Alduin, Duanmu Huai learned that Fafnir was imprisoned at a nearby Dragon Cult stronghold, while Gureiya gained Alduin’s Dragon Shouts and the ability to manifest a dragon form. The group gathered at the stronghold and began its assault with Gureiya’s devastating meteor-summoning shout.

  • Duanmu Huai discovered that his Doom Marine class had gained attributes from fighting Alduin, and tested how effectively doll-made wyverns could fight.
  • Gureiya gained all of Alduin’s Dragon Shouts, learned to manifest a dragon-shaped form, and discovered Fafnir’s location in the Dragon Cult’s divine crystal.
  • Duanmu Huai summoned Ann and Lorena to join him at the nearby Dragon Cult stronghold, where they also met Banbi and saw Gureiya’s new ability.
  • Lorena explained that the Dragon Cult worshiped Alduin and operated as bandits, so Duanmu Huai decided to attack without mercy.
  • Gureiya unleashed a Dragon Shout that darkened the sky and rained meteors onto the stronghold, and Duanmu Huai ordered everyone to advance.

Ch. 180Invasion Plan

After Fafnir was destroyed, Gureiya decided to marry Duanmu Huai in hopes of protecting the dragons of Regnis from his hostility toward threats to humanity. Duanmu Huai then announced a full-scale assault on Morag Bal's Oblivion Realm to free the vampire souls and avenge Banbi, and Sahariel volunteered to bring forces from Heaven.

  • Duanmu Huai had Sahariel obliterate Fafnir, and the group returned to the city after destroying the Dragon Cult.
  • Ann asked Gureiya about her feelings for Duanmu Huai, and Gureiya decided to marry him to protect the dragons of Regnis.
  • Duanmu Huai told the group that Morag Bal had imprisoned the Vampire Kingdom's souls and said he planned to kill the Daedric Prince and free them for Banbi.
  • Lorena and Ann agreed to join the expedition, while Gureiya questioned whether the group could safely fight a Daedric Prince in its own realm.
  • Duanmu Huai said he would bring the Night Watch and Guardians in full force, and Sahariel offered to return to Heaven and bring troops.

Ch. 181Simple and Brutal

Duanmu Huai explained how faith could create gods and decided to use Morag’s God Statue to force open a portal to the Oblivion Realm. With Lorena, his companions, and Sahariel’s angel army ready, he opened the gate and shoved back a monster that charged through, preparing the group to enter.

  • Duanmu Huai explained to Lorena that gods and Daedric Princes were created by the faith of intelligent beings and that Morag’s God Statue could open a path to his domain.
  • Duanmu Huai gathered Okegis, Banbi, Ann, Gureiya, Lorena, Odel, and Sahariel’s angel army before the expedition.
  • Ann eagerly agreed to go, while Banbi looked forward to meeting her people and Odel followed Duanmu Huai without question.
  • Duanmu Huai poured psychic power into Morag’s God Statue until it shattered and formed a dark red portal.
  • A scaled monster charged through the portal, but Duanmu Huai pressed its head and shoved it back inside before telling the group to go.
