Yun Prefecture.
Snow began falling from the sky.
Snowflakes swished down over the city, blanketing the streets in thick drifts. Soldiers hunched their shoulders and wrapped their coats tighter, their footprints buried beneath fresh snow in the blink of an eye.
On the squares and streets, temporary military camps had sprung up everywhere, gray tents raised for the coming battle. Snow shook softly from their canvas covers.
Suddenly, a low rumble came from the horizon. Flying Warships cut through the leaden clouds, their shadows briefly sweeping across the street corners. Against the hurried bustle below, they formed a tense winter scene.
Near Qin Prefecture, few ordinary people passed by anymore. Military guards hurried everywhere.
Amid cries of grief,
the last few batches of Yun Prefecture's residents were carried away by buses arranged by the Town Martial Division, forced to leave the home where they had lived for so long.
Beside the streets, all kinds of signboards lay hidden beneath the snow, along with black cloth.
Through it, one could just make out words cursing the Five Clans and Lord Chen.
In several squares, unfinished Divine General statues stood silently.
The heavy snow draped them in white.
The Five Clans had launched a surprise attack on Xiaoyang City, Great Xia's last remaining stronghold in Qin Prefecture.
Everyone knew that if Xiaoyang City fell, Yun Prefecture would become the main battlefield.
No one knew how long Xiaoyang City could hold out, but the Town Martial Division had arranged for Yun Prefecture's residents to evacuate early. The outcome needed no explanation.
Even the faces of the Military Martial Guard were clouded with gloom.
Some people kept gazing up at the sky, silent for a long, long time.
If Xiaoyang couldn't hold out, how long could all of Great Xia last?
