Background / History

Gu Yue is the main soul of the Silver Dragon King, while Na'er is her secondary soul. The two separated in order to seek a future for the Soul Beast Clan, whose survival was threatened by humanity's rapid development and the eventual return of the God Realm. Gu Yue retained the Silver Dragon King's more calculating and kingly disposition, while Na'er developed a more human nature. 131

As part of their plan, Gu Yue entered the Spirit Pagoda and became the disciple of Heavenly Phoenix Douluo Leng Yaozhu. She used that position to advance within the organization and conduct research intended to bring vitality to the Soul Beast Clan. Meanwhile, Na'er was guided toward Shrek City by the Twin God King Seeds within Ling Luo, making Ling Luo their second and more important route to changing the clan's fate. 131

Gu Yue initially sought to win Ling Luo's favor after judging Na'er's efforts insufficient. She arranged to transfer to Shrek Academy, instructed Na'er to create opportunities for her, and deliberately cultivated ambiguity around her relationship with Ling Luo. 12 16 17

After learning that Tang Wulin carried the Golden Dragon King's bloodline, Gu Yue ordered Di Tian to locate and seize him. Di Tian's attempt failed when Tang San's remaining divine protection intervened, leading Gu Yue to conclude that Tang Wulin was Tang San's descendant and to suspend further action. 34 44

Gu Yue and Na'er later disclosed their identities and objectives to Ling Luo. Gu Yue offered the Heart of the Dragon God in exchange for his help securing space for the Soul Beast Clan's survival; Ling Luo agreed, while refusing to turn his sword against humanity. 131 132
