Background / History
Jiuzhou Technology was created when Xu Yifan divided the former Jiuzhou Automobile business into specialized companies. It was assigned high-end motor and controller manufacturing, core technology R&D, and the external sale of automotive parts; Ye Zhiyong was promoted to its president. 183
It was the first of the newly separated companies to complete its leadership team, production-line handover, and development plan. It immediately began inviting domestic automakers to a product launch centered on supplying Jiuzhou-developed motors and electric-control systems. 185
At its first component launch, Ye Zhiyong introduced the Golden Crow motor, establishing Jiuzhou Technology as an upstream supplier rather than only a vehicle manufacturer. The company subsequently supplied powertrain systems to multiple automakers while maintaining fixed pricing for its motors and electric controls. 188 190
As funding and personnel expanded, the company moved beyond automotive technology into mobile phones, operating systems, displays, chips, communications equipment, software, entertainment, solar energy, intelligent devices, and later military equipment. 205 223 286 317 342
