When he arrived outside Hikari's small, tidy courtyard, Chiyo could sense the familiar yet slightly nervous presence within.

He did not knock. Instead, as naturally as if returning to his own home, he pushed open the half-closed courtyard gate.

The courtyard was spotless, with several cold-resistant green plants thriving in the corners by the wall.

The room's windows had already been covered by thick curtains, and only warm, flickering candlelight spilled through the gaps.

Chiyo smiled faintly and pushed open the entryway door.

Uchiha Hikari stood just inside the entrance, apparently having waited for quite some time.
