Background / History

Chiyo began as a Konoha Military Police officer patrolling the East District. During one patrol, he defended Might Duy from public humiliation, paid for Duy's purchase, and openly argued that every Konoha ninja deserved respect. His conduct impressed Tsunade and challenged local prejudice against the Uchiha clan 5.

During the war in Amegakure, Chiyo trained Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato in chakra control, taijutsu, and shurikenjutsu. He later identified the dangers of Nagato's Rinnegan and deliberately chose not to take it, judging that it was protected by an unknown mechanism 16 35.

He rose to Uchiha Clan Leader and appointed Mikoto as his personal secretary. Under his leadership, the Uchiha Guard Unit investigated child disappearances, uncovered Danzō's involvement, and improved the clan's reputation through public service and battlefield victories 37 59 60 69.
