At the Hokage Building, Chiyo finished processing the last document. It was already late at night.
He stood and walked to the window.
Konoha's nightscape was gentle and tranquil. Faint echoes of the celebration still lingered in the streets, but most of the village had returned to peace.

She held a food box in her hand and appeared to have been waiting for quite some time.
"Izumi?"
Chiyo was somewhat surprised.
"Why are you here?"
Izumi turned around, a faint blush on her face.
"I... I thought Lord Chiyo might not have eaten yet, so I made some supper."
She raised the food box, her voice soft.
"Could we... take a walk together?"

The two walked side by side through Konoha's streets.
The night breeze was slightly cool, carrying the lingering scent of fireworks from the celebration and the fresh fragrance of grass and trees.
The lanterns along the streets had yet to go out, casting warm halos of light.
"Today's matches were wonderful."

"Mirai's fight with Kurotsuchi reminded me of when I took the Chunin Exams."
Chiyo smiled.
