His tiny hand reached out from the swaddling clothes, trying to grasp a strand of Princess Lingyue's hanging hair. His movements were clumsy, yet persistent.

"Little one, you're quite lively, aren't you?"

Chiyo came in from the adjoining hall, carrying a bowl of warm spiritual rice porridge.

He sat beside the couch, scooped up a spoonful, gently blew it cool, and brought it to Princess Lingyue's lips.

"You barely ate today. Have some porridge."

Princess Lingyue opened her mouth and took a sip. The warm flow slid down her throat into her stomach, driving away the exhaustion in her body.

She looked at Chiyo, her eyes filled with tenderness.

Chiyo shook his head and scooped up another spoonful.

"Careful, it's hot."

The two quietly continued feeding her. Sesshomaru occasionally let out little babbling noises, as if declaring his presence.

Suddenly, the little one's hand finally caught hold of his mother's hair. A proud smile appeared on his face. Though still immature, it already carried a hint of brilliance.
