The next day.
Sky City welcomed an unexpected visitor.
When the demons guarding the city saw that white figure from afar, they almost thought their eyes were playing tricks on them.
His silver-white hair streamed in the wind, and the two demonic markings on his cheeks gleamed with a cold, eerie light beneath the sun.
The furry pelt behind him swayed gently with his steps. Every stride was steady and unhurried, as though nothing in this world could make him quicken his pace.
"L-Lord Sesshomaru..."
The demon guarding the city hurriedly dropped to his knees in salute, his voice trembling.
Sesshomaru did not look at him and walked straight past.
Jaken followed behind him, leaning on the Human Head Staff, panting as he trotted along. As he ran, he looked back and glared at the gate-guarding demon.
"What are you staring at! Lord Sesshomaru is returning to his own home. What is there for you to make such a fuss about?"
"Yes, yes, my lord!"
The city guard buried his head even lower.
When Jaken heard "my lord," he immediately puffed out his chest.
With a cold snort, he hurriedly chased after him.
The main hall of Sky City.
Chiyo leaned back in the main seat, holding that ancient tome that never seemed to end, his crimson eyes half-lidded.
He had sensed it long ago.
That pure Demonic Energy, carrying a faint chill.
It was moving from the city gate toward the main hall.
"He's back."
Chiyo murmured softly, closed the book, and set it at his side.
A moment later, the doors of the main hall were pushed open.
Sesshomaru stood in the doorway, his silver-white hair carrying a trace of travel dust, but his face still held no expression at all.
He glanced at Chiyo, then walked in.
