It was like stepping into a kaleidoscope.
Colorful, dazzling fragments stretched in every direction.
Each fragment held different experiences, different insights—or secrets hidden deep in someone's heart, secrets no outsider was meant to know.
Han Su saw the crystal skull directly—or rather, the secrets of this strange corpse's life.
It was as if he'd opened a sealed hard drive.
The dead man had once been a warehouse clerk in neighboring Haiti City. He'd lived a happy, comfortable life with his wife and son, working from nine in the morning to ten at night, until he saw a newly unearthed artifact in the newspaper. Its bizarre beauty captivated him.
It was a crystal skull, an artwork of breathtaking beauty.
He took leave without a second thought and went to see it at the exhibition hall. As he gazed at the translucent skull up close, it seemed to shine straight into the depths of his mind.
But his admiration was soon shattered. Robbers burst into the exhibition hall and fired without restraint, killing who knew how many people. Yet when they saw him, they seemed to notice the glimmer of crystal still lingering in his eyes.
The robbers smiled and reached out to him. "One of us."
Without hesitation, he abandoned everything and went with them. From that day on, he became a member of the Crystal Skull organization.
They worshiped the crystal skull day and night, kneeling before it through the long nights. The organization's leader told them they had to be devout and sincere. The crystal skull could speak; its words were revelations from God to his followers, the key to unlocking a new level of existence.
He truly believed it.
So he worshiped with mad devotion, until one day, he really did hear the crystal skull's voice.
