Background / History
Tang San is the son of Clear Sky Douluo Tang Hao and Ah Yin, the Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast known as the Blue Silver Emperor. He is also Tang Chen's great-grandson through Tang Hao. His parentage is exposed to the Chat Group, where its members debate whether Tang Hao's relationship with Ah Yin was genuine or exploitative 9 10 125.
He is revealed to be an otherworldly soul who transmigrated into Ah Yin's child's body. His signature techniques—Purple Demon Eye, Mysterious Jade Hand, and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track—are identified as Tang Sect arts from his past life rather than self-created skills 151. Ah Yin later rejects him as her son, regarding him as an outsider occupying her child's body 236.
After leaving Holy Soul Village to enroll at Nuoding Academy, Tang San allegedly killed a gatekeeper over insults directed at Old Jack and considered killing Yu Xiaogang before deciding the man was useful enough to accept as a teacher and godfather 151 153.
Personality
Tang San is intensely proud of his Twin Martial Souls, Tang Sect inheritance, and status as Shrek's leading combatant. Defeats by Lu Ming repeatedly destabilize this confidence, particularly when Tang San learns that Lu Ming's Blue Silver Emperor naturally suppresses his Blue Silver Grass 25 26 28.
He is fiercely possessive of Xiao Wu, framing his hostility toward Lu Ming as protection of her honor. When Xiao Wu leaves Shrek and joins the Blue Tyrant Team, Tang San reacts with jealousy, rage, and a determination to defeat Lu Ming 25 159 160. Xiao Wu's knowledge of his past actions and of his awareness of her soul-beast identity ultimately destroys their relationship 152 153.
In combat, Tang San readily escalates to lethal methods when angered or cornered. He employs poisoned hidden weapons against Lu Ming's vital points and later attempts to kill him during a spar, actions that lead to his crippling retaliation 166 205 206.
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, the latter being the weapon Martial Soul associated with the Clear Sky Sect.
- Blue Silver Grass — His primary Martial Soul and the basis of his control-system fighting style. It is naturally suppressed by Lu Ming's Blue Silver Emperor, causing his vines and abilities to submit or fail 25 26.
- Clear Sky Hammer — His second Martial Soul and final combat trump card. He uses the Clear Sky Sect's Chaotic Wind technique, though Lu Ming later deforms the hammer with a punch 28 204 205.
- Blue Silver Bind — First Spirit Ability; summons vines to bind and restrict opponents 25.
- Parasite — Second Spirit Ability; causes previously scattered Blue Silver Grass seeds to sprout over a target's body, forming an entangling cocoon with paralyzing toxins 166.
- Blue Silver Cage — Defensive formation that can be shattered by a sufficiently powerful attack 164.
Tang Sect Arts
Tang San's past-life Tang Sect knowledge forms the core of his combat style.
- Purple Demon Eye — Enhances his perception, allowing him to track minute movements and see through illusions 25 151 166.

- Used for direct assault after being forced to kneel by Lu Ming 204.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Identity and Parentage Exposure
Lu Ming reveals Tang San's identity as Tang Hao and Ah Yin's son to the Chat Group. The disclosure ties Tang San to the controversy over Ah Yin's exposure and sacrifice 9 10.
First Defeat by Lu Ming
After following Lu Ming to defend Xiao Wu's honor, Tang San challenges him as a Level 34 Control-type Battle Spirit Master. Lu Ming's Blue Silver Emperor suppresses Tang San's Blue Silver Grass, while Tang San's hidden weapons and Tang Sect techniques fail to overcome Lu Ming's Life System regeneration 25 26. Tang San returns to Yu Xiaogang battered and admits that he was defeated in every respect 27 28.
Collapse of His Relationship with Xiao Wu
The Chat Group's revelations expose Tang San's past-life origins, alleged early killings, and awareness of Xiao Wu's true identity. Xiao Wu confronts him, ends their relationship, and later joins the Blue Tyrant Team under Lu Ming 151 153 159.
Tournament Humiliation
Tang San faces Lu Ming during the academy competition. His Blue Silver Cage, Parasite, hidden weapons, Mysterious Jade Hand, and Eight Spider Lances are all overcome; Lu Ming tears out the External Soul Bone and throws Tang San out of the arena 164 166 167.
Conflict over Ah Yin
Tang San discovers that the revived Ah Yin is willingly staying with Lu Ming and rejects Tang Hao. Seeing Ah Yin kiss Lu Ming drives him into a rage, leading him to challenge Lu Ming at the Heaven Dou Great Soul Arena 202 203.
Crippling and Mental Breakdown
Lu Ming defeats Tang San without relying on his Martial Soul or Soul Skills, breaks his Eight Spider Lances again, deforms his Clear Sky Hammer, and forces him to address Ah Yin as “Madam Lu” 204 205. Tang San then attacks with lethal hidden weapons during a spar; Lu Ming retaliates with a vine attack that cripples Tang San's lower body 206. Later, Ah Yin and Xiao Wu's public rejection of him further drives him into psychological collapse 236 238.
