Minghe saw that Hong Yun could barely fight back and thought the outcome was already decided. Then a thought struck him: Hong Yun seemed to be struggling desperately, but his steps remained steady, and he was still using Great Magic Power.
Could Hong Yun know he had no chance and be pretending to lose, making the two of them lower their guard so he could escape?
Hong Yun was the first cloud in the world. He could gather or disperse and ride the wind. Although Kun Peng was one of the fastest beings in the world and was naturally attuned to wind, pursuing Hong Yun would only help him escape.
Minghe summoned the Karmic Fire Red Lotus, sealing off the surrounding space, and silently watched the two fight.
Hong Yun let out a shout. The purple-red gourd on his body emitted a flash of red light, then suddenly grew enormous and began sucking in Kun Peng.
Kun Peng was shocked. He felt an overwhelming force of suction and traction rushing toward him. He knew that if the Red Gourd swallowed him, his soul would be scattered at once. It was truly vicious. Daring not to be careless, he quickly circulated his magic power and repeatedly swept his long sleeves. One gust after another of the Law of Wind appeared out of nowhere, constantly cutting through the force pulling him in.
Seeing Kun Peng occupied with saving himself, Hong Yun turned into his true form—a cloud—and fled into the purple-red gourd. Then he drove the gourd straight toward the horizon.
Hong Yun was congratulating himself on escaping the ambush by Minghe and Kun Peng when an unexpected change occurred. A blood-red lotus appeared out of thin air, its strands of red light hanging down to pin the purple-red gourd in midair.
