Under Guiguzi's hand seals, Ziyang suddenly felt as though someone were refining him into a magic treasure. He cried out, "Guiguzi, you old rascal! You're trying to refine me into a talisman!"
Guiguzi didn't dare let his attention wander. His hands moved through the seals even faster. Strange runes formed one after another over Ziyang's primordial spirit, which slowly began to disappear.
The ghost corpse seemed to know how powerful the runes were. It swung its thick arm at the runes gradually taking shape around Ziyang, but they suddenly emitted a golden light that knocked its arm aside. Another beam of gold pierced straight through the limb, leaving a large, charred hole.
The ghost corpse let out a series of shrill howls and kept pounding with its arm, making the runes that were gathering flicker and shake.
Seeing this, Hua Dou tossed the compass in his hand. It immediately shot out streaks of hazy gray light that pinned the ghost corpse in place. Hua Dou was helpless. He didn't have a scrap of magic power left, and forcing the compass into action would drain its energy. That would be very bad for the Eight Spirits as they cultivated, so Hua Dou had avoided using it unless absolutely necessary.
Guiguzi's hands moved so quickly that they were little more than blurs. In midair, Ziyang's entire form transformed into a purple rune, and purple light flooded everything. The Four Symbols Spirit-Locking Formation, which Hua Dou had set up with spirit talismans, was immediately drawn toward the rune.
The Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird let out roars and cries, and a vast surge of energy arose, converging on the rune formed from Ziyang.
Guiguzi shouted, "Condense!" The purple rune immediately radiated boundless light. Wherever its radiance passed, countless wisps of Yin Energy vanished.
