Suddenly, two hissing sounds rang out as several monsters leaped from the lava lake and pounced at Wang Mang. He flicked his wrist, and the Taotie Cauldron's blue light blossomed like a lotus. The monsters were smashed to pieces before they could get close.
Wang Mang looked down and suddenly felt his heart lurch. One bulge after another had risen from the magma river, packed so tightly together that there was no room between them. Like mushrooms, they grew larger and larger until they reached two meters tall, then sprouted heads and limbs. Magma streamed down their bodies. They were unmistakably lava monsters, formed entirely from magma and fused with the river, as though they possessed undying bodies.
Disaster Beast Fei let out a loud cry and leaped straight into the magma. Countless lava monsters swarmed toward him like ants. Fei opened his mouth and spat out a Bone Whip, which rapidly lengthened. Its enormous shadow filled the entire space. As the whip lashed out, every lava monster it struck burst apart, and the whip devoured the heat within them.
