A New Year, a New Journey

Time flew by, and before I knew it, another year had passed.

It wasn't as dramatic as blinking and suddenly finding everything changed, but I still had a lot I wanted to say.

Three years ago, on March 22, I published the first chapter of Otherworld Conquest Manual.

Later, Manual was forced to end early after being reported, and Walking into the Unscientific went live in a rush.

On this day two years ago—January 1, 2022—Walking into the Unscientific officially went on sale.

It started with two thousand First Subscriptions. Two years later, its average subscriptions had increased sevenfold, and it had reached 4.33 million characters. Rounded up, that's practically ten million.

Over the past two years, I'm sure a lot has happened, both with this book and in the lives of the author and readers beyond it.

For example, back then I was a lonely single guy, gazing wistfully at my own shadow. Now? Well, I'm still single, so never mind.

All right, back to the point.

I've never hidden the fact that I've written under other pen names, but to be honest, this was my first time writing a novel built around separate instances. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

That's because instance-based stories are different from other genres. One instance might do very well, while readers might not like the next one, causing the numbers to plummet. And once an instance is underway, you can't just swap it out the moment you realize readers don't like it.

So every time I choose an instance, I think it over for a long time and pick my target with the utmost care.

Luckily, so far, everyone's response to these instances has been great.
