Wang Anyi had clearly noticed communications between the ships growing much less frequent over the past while. He took a deep breath, looked at Gui Zhaolin, and asked his partner:

"Old Gui, how many ships still haven't moved?"

Gui Zhaolin had been watching the situation around them. At once, he replied:

"There are probably twenty or thirty enemy ships within five nautical miles of us. About half are command ships or escorts; the rest are various small and medium-sized vessels."

"Judging by their posture, they probably won't change course. We've shaken off about as many enemies as we're going to."

Wang Anyi nodded slightly.

This was within the organization's expectations.

The three survey ships had successfully drawn away the main force of this "combined fleet," but it was obviously impossible to distract them all.

Some factions had enough ships that, even after splitting them among three directions, they still had vessels to spare. The Bear and Across the sea were the main examples.

Other factions had simply reached a joint agreement, with each side sending a few ships to follow Huaxia's survey vessels. The Kangaroos and the Maple Leaf Country were among them.

Still others had command ships remaining here for various reasons. They didn't necessarily suspect that the Huaxia people had another plan; some had simply left a precautionary force behind.

The point was, there was no way three ships could draw everyone away. Even in the video games of a later age, only AI on the easiest setting would be stupid enough to fall for that.

So the Rabbits had been clear about their goal from the start: the three survey ships only had to do their best to disperse the enemy's fighting strength and stretch the "front line" as far as possible.
