Lightning-Fast Shooting
In the blink of an eye, the Kunlun Mirror carried Lu Li back to the familiar basement.
Everything was exactly as it had been when he left. It had not been ransacked or smashed up, and the urn he had been worrying about was still intact where it belonged.
Lu Li hurried over and hugged it to his chest. After checking it over and confirming there was no problem, he finally let out a long breath.
But he knew perfectly well that this was not because the Decapitation Gang had good manners. Leaving him a sliver of hope was meant to lure him back!
Lu Li did not panic. Instead, he calmly dragged a suitcase out from beneath the bed.
The suitcase was battered and old, filled with the belongings his father, Lu Hongbing, had left behind.
At the very bottom, Lu Li found a small red box. Inside was a medal—the War of National Defense Commemorative Medal.
This had been Old Master Lu's medal. He had enlisted at fifteen, spent his entire life in the military, and slaughtered Devils across the world.
Before his death, the old man had left this most treasured medal to Lu Hongbing, clearly placing great hopes on him.
Yet this had also become the fundamental reason Lu Hongbing had been too ashamed to return. He had instinctively hidden the medal at the very bottom, unwilling to see it.
Now, Lu Li placed the urn and the medal together inside the suitcase, pressed tightly against each other.
"No matter what, you have to face it bravely... and so do I."
He had barely locked the suitcase when hurried footsteps sounded outside. Then, with a bang, the door was kicked open.
Three burly men covered in tattoos walked in. Guns hung from their waists, and identical skull rings adorned the pinkies of their right hands.
Toby grinned broadly and teased, "Snow White really did come back. I've been waiting for you for days now~"
The entire city was full of gang eyes. Lu Li knew there was nowhere left to hide, so he calmly asked,
"Why won't you leave me alone?"
At first, he had thought they wanted to force him into becoming a drug mule. But he was a conspicuous member of the Yellow race, hardly suited to the low-profile nature of a mule.
And as a cripple with a broken leg, selling him to a brothel made even less sense...
At the question, the uninvited guests burst into laughter, their voices brimming with mockery.
Toby said meaningfully, "These days, living people are worth far more than dead ones."
Beside him, a bald giant nearly two meters tall grabbed his crotch and leered.
"This monkey made us waste two days! I want to fuck him to death!"
"I'm afraid that won't do." Toby licked his lips.
"The laboratory has high standards for its samples. For the sake of ten thousand dollars, we'll have to be a little gentler this time~"
The bastard crooked a finger at Lu Li. "Come on, Snow White. I'll take you somewhere nice."
Once he went, he would likely vanish from Blue Star forever.
Lu Li slowly lowered his head, as though he had accepted his fate.
Toby and the others wore mocking smiles, sensing nothing wrong. Xia Country's Yellow people had always been as easy to bully as sheep.
They did not know that Lu Li was using the motion of lowering his head to study the guns at their waists!
In a country where tanks opened fire in the streets, even someone unfamiliar with firearms would not fail to recognize them after being constantly exposed to them!
The group passed through the narrow alleys of the slums and reached a somewhat wider road.
A pickup truck was parked there, its driver idly puffing out clouds of smoke.
So there are four of them including the driver. To make things easier, they chose a very secluded place.
The time had come. Lu Li took a deep breath and prepared to make his move.
The gang members noticed nothing.
Toby opened the door and made an inviting gesture. "Get in, Your Highness the Princess~"
That disgusting bald brute even reached out with a greasy hand to shove Lu Li's shoulder, unaware that he was delivering himself right to Lu Li's door!
The instant he was touched, Lu Li concentrated his mind within his sea of consciousness and entered the Spirit Concentration State.
Everything around him slowed down. He could even clearly see the bald brute's lecherous grin slowly spreading across his face.
Lu Li reached back and, as easily as taking candy from a baby, pulled the man's handgun from his waist—a huge revolver gleaming silver.
It was none other than the Colt Python, the same model used by the protagonist of The Walking Dead.
The entire process was as effortless as snatching a lollipop from an infant. Only then did Toby and the others realize what had happened.
Their facial muscles slowly twisted, terror gradually surfacing on their faces as though they were footage playing at 0.7x speed.
Without the slightest hesitation, Lu Li raised the muzzle a little and pulled the trigger at the bald brute.
With a thunderous bang, the bullet entered through his lower jaw and burst out through the top of his skull, creating a shower of gore.
A string of red flecks splattered across Lu Li's pale face, but he seemed oblivious as he swung the gun toward the second man.
The man's face slowly showed shock and fury as he cursed in a drawn-out voice, "Bas...tard..."
At the same time, his hand slowly reached for his gun...
But before he could touch it, fire had already erupted from Lu Li's barrel. A .45-caliber bullet roared out and blew off the top of his skull.
Blood and brain matter splashed into Lu Li's mouth. Tasting the thick salty tang, he raised his gun toward Toby.
Years spent on the streets had made Toby quick to react.
He had already ducked behind the truck door, gun drawn, using his thumb to flick off the safety.
But in the next instant, terror slowly filled the bastard's eyes!
Lu Li had already looked over, his irises reflecting a starlike radiance!
Toby had just disengaged the safety and had not yet pulled the trigger when Lu Li's muzzle spat fire first.
The target was five meters away. Lu Li did not trust his own marksmanship, so he aimed for the torso.
The bullet shrieked from the barrel, shattered the window, and struck Toby in the chest. Its immense kinetic force blasted him backward.
Shattered window glass slowly scattered across the ground as Lu Li spun sharply, about to deal with the final driver.
But dealing with the three men had taken some time, and the driver had already raised his gun and aimed it at him.
He had even squeezed the trigger halfway. The bullet would fire in the next instant!
Even with the Spirit Concentration State empowering him, Lu Li still had to turn around and carefully aim at a target crouched inside the vehicle. He was about to be too late.
At the critical moment, a rainbow beam shot from between his brows and instantly smashed into the driver's face!
Accompanied by the crisp crack of breaking bone, the Kunlun Mirror slapped the enemy's nose into his face.
Tears, snot, and blood flooded his eyes. The driver screamed and fired wildly, the bullet punching through the truck roof and flying off who knew where.
But Lu Li's bullet was incomparably precise. With a thunderous bang, thick red-and-white matter splashed across the windshield.
By then, every gang member was dead. Only Toby, shot in the chest and still barely clinging to life, writhed painfully in a pool of blood.
The bastard had never imagined that a Snow White, a cripple, could possess such a ruthless heart and such a fast gun!
They had not even had the strength to resist!
What he did not know was that Lu Li himself was equally astonished. Spirit Refinement and firearms could create such dazzling sparks when brought together!
Filled with boundless emotion, Lu Li pressed the Python to Toby's forehead, about to finish the enemy for good.
"Wait! Wait!" Toby rasped desperately.
"It was the Harvard University Biological Laboratory buying Yellow race test subjects. It has nothing to do with me! My uncle is the Decapitation Gang's boss. If you kill me, he won't let you go..."
Toby blurted out anything he could think of to save his life, but Lu Li could not be bothered to listen. With one bang, he blew Toby's head apart, spraying bloody tofu-like mush across the ground.
As for the Harvard University Biological Laboratory Toby had mentioned, Lu Li did not pay it much mind.
Since the last century, Star Alliance Country had been conducting all manner of biochemical experiments on human beings, not even sparing its own civilians and soldiers.
Everyone knew this. There were even declassified official documents admitting it outright.
There was no use thinking further. The urgent matter was to loot the spoils first.
