Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Level 50; fifth-ring threshold 90 Reveals that he has already overcome the Level 49 bottleneck before receiving his investigation assignment. Still displays only four rings—yellow, yellow, purple, purple—and seeks a fifth ring 90 91.
Seven-ring Soul Sage 342 345 Confirmed with two yellow, two purple, and three black rings. Described as the youngest Soul Sage; possesses the sixth-ring Earth Ant Emperor Slash and seventh-ring Martial Soul True Body. His breakthrough and later ring acquisitions are not shown in the supplied passages.

Appearance

Tang Hao is tall, sturdy, powerfully built, and rather handsome, with an overtly arrogant gaze 36 93.

  • Voice: Deep, resonant, and sometimes rough 36 276.
  • Clothing: Trains bare-chested and later appears dressed entirely in black 89 402 457.
  • Signature silhouette: Carries an enormous hammer over his shoulder; its head bears ancient, ferocious patterns 36.
  • Cultivation manifestation: Golden-red lightning radiates from his body after consuming the Golden Lightning Bright Light Lamp 566.

Personality

Tang Hao’s confidence rests on an undefeated record dating back to his Martial Soul awakening. He enjoys public admiration and believes brute strength should break through obstacles rather than rely on elaborate schemes. Although he openly admits that Yu Xiaoheng cultivated the first twenty levels faster, he insists that the younger rival will never catch him 90 94.

His pride becomes destructive when challenged. He resents Yu Xiaoheng for saving the mine expedition, briefly shows delight at the possibility that the younger Soul Master might fail a ring’s spiritual impact, and later relishes hammering Nameless into apparent submission. When humiliation mounts, he disregards competition rules and even his own sect’s reputation 109 113 343 345.

He is gentler with those close to him. Tang Hao dotes on Tang Yuehua, worries about her safety, and comforts the injured Tang San. His loyalty does not prevent him from expressing disdain for Evil Soul Masters’ methods or acknowledging an enemy’s virtues: during the Sunset Forest pursuit, he firmly defends Yu Xiaoheng’s genuine affection and loyalty 90 91 141 148 466.

Repeated defeats turn his arrogance into fear, nightmares, and shame. Seeing Tang San also recoil from Yu Xiaoheng gives him relief by showing that his terror is not simply personal cowardice, though his Dao Heart remains damaged in later chapters 458 469 566 583.

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao’s Martial Soul is presented as the world’s greatest Tool Martial Soul. Its fighting style emphasizes immense weight and overwhelming force 90 99.

  • Uses enormous hammer shadows to intercept attacks and strike opponents 97 343.
  • Projects oppressive Soul Power capable of filling the entire mine 99.
  • His fourth-ring ability supports a long-range hammer throw, including while Martial Soul True Body is active 345.
  • Limit: His fourth-ring attack only partially blocks the Thunder Jade Dragon’s lightning net, which draws power from the surrounding mineral vein 97.

Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

A Clear Sky Sect hammer technique that also tempers the physical body. Tang Hao regards it as his sect’s answer to the Blue Electric Tyrant Dragon Sect’s body-refinement methods 90.

  • Trains through repeated hammer swings 89.
  • Identifies the technique as a major advantage in a direct confrontation with Nameless 373.

Earth Ant Emperor Slash

His sixth Soul Skill, granted by a ten-thousand-year ring, is described as his strongest single-target attack apart from Martial Soul True Body 342.

  • Commits his body and hammer to a devastating strike powerful enough to subtly distort the surrounding space 342.
  • Limit: Fails to kill Nameless, whose continued survival allows him to exploit the subsequent hammer barrage for body refinement 342 344.

Martial Soul True Body

His seventh Soul Skill enlarges the Clear Sky Hammer into a giant weapon dozens of meters long, covered in moving dark-golden patterns 345.

  • Combines with his fourth-ring throwing skill for a massive ranged attack 345.
  • Can sustain the projected hammer by increasing his Soul Power output 346.
  • Limit: Yu Xiaoheng’s Element Absorption strips power from the avatar and converts it into a counterattack 346.

Ring Detonation

A life-risking Clear Sky Sect secret technique that releases immense power by detonating Spirit Rings 142 422.

  • Detonates his seventh and sixth rings consecutively during his decisive clash with Yu Xiaoheng 422.
  • The released energy activates the medicinal power of his immortal herb and strengthens his hammer with golden-red lightning 422.
  • Limit: The combined strike is shattered by Yu Xiaoheng’s berserk dragon state and associated abilities 424.

Immortal Herb Enhancement

The Golden Lightning Bright Light Lamp enhances Tang Hao with golden-red lightning that courses through his body and coils around the Clear Sky Hammer 399 422 566.

  • Remains active after the destruction of his Ring Detonation attack, allowing him to launch another lightning-enhanced strike 424.
  • Limit: Neither its empowered attack nor his renewed assault overcomes Yu Xiaoheng 424.

Equipment / Items

  • Golden Lightning Bright Light Lamp — Consumed immortal herb responsible for his golden-red lightning enhancement 422 566.
  • Spirit Bones — Yu Xiaoheng believes Tang Hao must possess high-quality Spirit Bones because of his position among the Clear Sky Twin Stars; their locations, attributes, and skills are not disclosed 375.

Relationships

  • Tang Wei — Father and Clear Sky Sect Master. Assigns his missions, praises him as the sect’s future pillar, and reassures him after his defeats; nevertheless condemns his reckless tournament misconduct 90 345 458.
  • Tang Xiao — Elder brother and fellow Clear Sky Twin Star. Warns him not to underestimate Yu Xiaoheng’s potential threat to the sect 36.
  • Tang Yuehua — Younger sister whom he indulges and protects. She accompanies his lightning investigation after promising to stay close to him 90 91.
  • Tang San — Rescued sect descendant, devoted younger companion, and father-like bond. Tang Hao and Tang Xiao bring him back to the sect; Tang Wei formally adopts him, but Tang San regards Tang Hao as his father and later identifies himself as Tang Hao’s son 91 352.
  • Yu Xiaoheng / Nameless — Rival who becomes a mortal enemy. Their conflict progresses from cultivation comparisons to resource disputes, public defeats, and Tang Hao’s profound fear of facing him again 94 99 346 424 458.
  • Bibi Dong — Enemy who blames him for helping cause Yu Xiaoheng’s apparent death. He strikes her down during her confrontation with Qian Xunji and later repels her attempt to protect Nameless 276 344.
  • Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect — Combat-support ally. Its pagoda users amplify his tournament performance; a Spirit Emperor burns his life force to strengthen Tang Hao’s decisive attack 376 422.
  • Four Great Affiliated Families — Their younger generation views him as the master to whom they have sworn loyalty 242.

History

First Interest in Yu Xiaoheng

After Tang Wei reports Yu Xiaoheng’s lightning-related Martial Soul evolution, Tang Xiao warns that the child could threaten the Haotian Sect’s standing. Tang Hao dismisses the immediate danger but promises to test him at the next-to-next Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament 36.

Years earlier, Tang Hao and Tang Xiao had discovered Tang San while training outside the sect and brought him home. Tang San’s extraordinary talent wins Tang Wei’s formal adoption, but his strongest emotional attachment remains to Tang Hao 91.

Lightning Investigation and the Thunder Jade Dragon

Tang Wei sends Tang Hao to investigate persistent lightning within Clear Sky territory after villagers and investigating Soul Masters are affected. Tang Hao reveals his Level 50 breakthrough and departs with sect disciples and Tang Yuehua, hoping the source will provide his fifth ring 89 90 91.

The expedition meets Yu Xiaoheng’s party on the road. Tang Hao challenges the younger heir’s reputation, concedes his superior early cultivation speed, and declares that he will not let him catch up. At the mine, Yu Xiaoheng’s information secures the discovery of a major Jade Marrow Thunder Stone vein, leaving Tang Hao overshadowed 93 94 96.

When the Thunder Jade Dragon appears, Tang Hao identifies it as an ideal fifth-ring candidate. He initially assumes that the Blue Electric experts will help him obtain it and plans to repay the favor by finding Yu Xiaoheng a younger beast. Yu Xiaoheng’s refusal enrages him 97 98 99.

Yu Xiaoheng ultimately saves the expedition from the lightning crisis and absorbs the dragon’s 11,000-year ring as his second ring. Tang Hao returns despondent, his Dao Heart shattered; learning what happened prompts Tang San to target Yu Xiaoheng for elimination 109 112 113 114.

Escalating Sect Hostilities

While hunting rings with Tang Wei in Sunset Forest, Tang Hao responds to Tang San’s distress signal. He comforts the injured boy and prepares to retaliate against Yu Xiaoheng. Although doubtful that Tang San can win their proposed duel, he supports treating it as a chance for growth 140 141 142.

Tang Hao later participates in discussions about using Evil Soul Masters against Yu Xiaoheng, while voicing disdain for their methods. He also accompanies Tang Wei’s public accusations against the Blue Lightning Clan at Yu Yuanzhen’s birthday celebration 148 252.

After Yu Xiaoheng’s apparent death, Bibi Dong identifies Tang Hao as one of the siege’s chief culprits. Tang Hao justifies the killing as necessary to prevent the Blue Lightning Clan from becoming uncontrollable in thirty years. He is also shown receiving Blue Lightning disciples secretly abducted by the Clear Sky Sect 276.

Tournament Confrontations with Nameless

By the tournament, Tang Hao is a seven-ring Soul Sage and a favorite for the championship. During Nameless’s match against the Star Luo team, he intervenes unsuccessfully to save its captains, then attacks Nameless with lethal intent 319 341 342.

His hammer barrage lasts two and a half minutes but inadvertently helps Yu Xiaoheng complete a body-refinement layer and reach Level 57. Furious at being used as a “free blacksmith,” Tang Hao ignores the referee and launches his Martial Soul True Body. Nameless absorbs part of the attack and returns an energy hammer; the referee’s intervention disrupts Tang Hao, and the counterattack gravely wounds him 344 345 346.

Tang Hao attributes the outcome to carelessness, underestimation, and interference rather than inferior strength. He vows to reclaim his honor, while Tang San secretly arranges an assassination of Nameless 348.

In the later tournament confrontation, Tang Hao recognizes the terrifying familiarity of Nameless’s purple fire and calls his teammates into the fight despite the crowd’s ridicule. Public shame eventually forces him to suppress his fear and commit to a direct clash 394 402 422.

He detonates two rings and receives life-burning support from a Seven Treasure Spirit Emperor, but Yu Xiaoheng destroys their combined attack. Tang Hao refuses to concede and attacks again; Yu Xiaoheng catches his hammer bare-handed and leaves him badly injured with a sequence of physical blows 422 424.

Fear, Defensive Retreat, and Death

After the defeat, Tang Hao conceals his terror behind a composed exterior while hoping Spirit Hall will kill Yu Xiaoheng for him. During the Sunset Forest pursuit, he nevertheless acknowledges that Yu Xiaoheng’s loyalty makes him capable of obtaining the Lovesick Heartbreak Red 458 466.

Watching Tang San retreat from Yu Xiaoheng briefly relieves Tang Hao’s shame. His fear persists, however: merely hearing about the Blue Electric Sect disrupts his cultivation, and he welcomes the decision to defend Clear Sky’s mountain stronghold rather than seek an open battle 469 566 581.

Tang San’s endurance during divine inheritance later disperses much of Tang Hao’s resentment toward him. In the Clear Sky Sect’s final sacrifice, Tang Hao passes through fear, hatred, and resignation before accepting his fate; his life and soul are consumed to strengthen Tang San 583 613.
