Horio was brimming with misplaced confidence. "Their so-called ace only plays doubles. He hasn't played many singles matches. You know, singles and doubles have different rules. Senior Kaidoh will be fine!"
Then the other member of their trio, Katsuo, piled on. "But you said the same thing when Senior Fuji took the lead last match, and in the end..."
Horio tried to defend himself. "Senior Fuji only lost by a little! Their vice-captain was really strong, too. It was close in the end!"
Katsuo piled on again. "Horio, I think you'd better not be so sure of yourself..."
The trio's argument on the sidelines had no effect on the match.
The rest of Seigaku weren't as optimistic as the three of them. They knew all too well how strong Keith was.
