Chapter 100: A Familiar Face: Knuckle
Knuckle was a friendly sort. He laughed heartily and clapped Gelman on the shoulder.
"You must be wondering why my teacher mentioned you, right?"
Gelman made no attempt to hide it.
"I am curious."
Knuckle raised an eyebrow and answered frankly, with pride:
"My teacher is the famous One-Star Hunter Morel. He heard your name and about your ambitions while chatting with Chairman Netero."
"Since Chairman Netero had called you an 'interesting newcomer,' and you're a Beast Hunter like me who's pulled off several major feats in the past few months, my teacher remembered you."
"He often tells me that someone like you, who takes down a few Shadow Beasts one day and kills a Phantom Troupe member the next, will find it hard to make progress in the field of Beast Hunting..."
Gelman was taken aback.
Part of him marveled at how quickly news of his killing Phinks had spread. He also hadn't expected Morel to use him as a cautionary example when lecturing his student.
However, Knuckle changed tack. "My teacher admires you, too. Taking out both the Shadow Beasts and a member of the Phantom Troupe isn't something an ordinary Hunter can do."
"Even veteran Criminal Hunters and Bounty Hunters wouldn't dare try it lightly, especially when the Phantom Troupe was the target. There's no question about your strength or courage!"
Knuckle wasn't stingy with his praise, and he felt a certain kinship with Gelman.
"Haha, but since you want to pursue Beast Hunting, I can teach you anything you don't know."
Gelman was indeed in urgent need of all kinds of allies, but he wasn't foolish enough to invite Knuckle on the spot.
"Then thanks in advance." Gelman glanced at the giant bird egg nearby and changed the subject. "You're
