Gelman led Kurapika into the crowd of people who had finished giving their statements and were free to leave. They quietly made their way away from the throng outside.
They entered a quiet corridor, then walked out of the airport.
"You can ask one question, and I'll answer just one." Gelman walked along the sidewalk, looking straight ahead. "That's your reward for keeping me company."
Kurapika couldn't help stopping in his tracks.
Gelman paid him no mind and continued walking.
The man wearing the Plague Doctor Mask drew some attention, but most people thought he was doing cosplay, so they didn't give it a second thought.
A moment later, Kurapika hurried after him. After a brief moment of thought, he knew what he should ask.
"What do I have to do to become as strong as you?"
He didn't waste his chance asking about anything else. He went straight to the point, since this was what he most needed to know. Everything else was a minor matter.
"Take the Professional Hunter Exam." Gelman hailed a taxi as he answered. "Once you get your Hunter License, someone will teach you."
He gave Kurapika the exact same canned answer he'd given Killua, then ducked into the back seat of the taxi at the curb.
"So that's what a 'Professional Hunter' is... The thing that man showed the police earlier must have been his Hunter License.
"And Professional Hunters hold extraordinary social status. Even the police didn't dare give him a hard time. They asked a few token questions and let us go."
