The shrill sound of brakes echoed through the air.
Kurapika drove the black car a little farther, then hit the brakes, turned the steering wheel, and stopped the car sideways across the road.
He nimbly climbed out, gave the Chain around his wrist a sharp shake, then turned to look behind the car.
There, his teacher was facing off against the last three members of the Shadow Beasts.
As Stinky Rat, an Emitter, used "Hard-to-Hide Stench of the Ditch," the final battle erupted across the modest battlefield at Twin Bridge.
By comparison, Evil Wolf and Viper were the two strongest members of the Shadow Beasts, while Stinky Rat was merely average in combat and mainly served to pull off unexpected tricks.
He only had to give a hint, and Evil Wolf and Viper understood what he intended. They put on the masks they had prepared earlier.
Then Evil Wolf and Viper attacked together, bearing down on Gelman.
Caught between them, Gelman retreated. Their assault, which had been meant to drive him into the stench, missed, and they hurried after him.
At this point, if they couldn't kill Gelman, they would have no face to show the Ten Dons. As for anything else, there was no need to think about it now.
Kill, kill, kill. Tonight, only slaughter could bring it all to an end.
At that moment, Gelman sensed a certain stirring in the flow of aura through his body's key points and pores.
In truth, it hadn't come out of nowhere. It was the result of more than twenty minutes of fighting, beginning with his surprise attack that killed Shachimo and continuing up to now.
Shachimo, Daznuo, and seven Shadow Beasts whose names he had never learned had all fallen to him. His hands were coated in thick,
