The Casualty Zone was bustling with people coming and going, but the busiest of all were the medical teams in white or pink uniforms. They darted around like bees gathering nectar.
Three people pushed a four-wheeled mobile bed through the narrow passageways. A woman lay on it, unconscious and missing a leg.
Gelman stepped aside to let the people through, who were clearly in a hurry. Then he adjusted the brim of his tricorn hat and turned to ask, "So you haven't heard anything from Chairman Netero and the others either?"
"No, I have."
Pam's answer immediately caught Gelman's attention. She pointed once again to the purplish-black orb embedded in her forehead.
"I told you, 'Lonely Deep Sea Fish' can record up to three targets. One is Gido, and the other two are Chairman Netero and Teacher Nobunaga."
"I can see Chairman Netero's current situation."
Pam had chosen those three as her targets for much the same reason—she had anticipated that they might get separated after the Great Chaos and had prepared in advance.
Chairman Netero and Gido had each led one of the Hunter Association's two teams. Keeping track of them would let her observe the members accompanying them, too.
As for Teacher Nobunaga, ever since turning into a Chimera Ant, Pam had been far less hard-hearted than she looked.
In truth, she still cared deeply about Teacher Nobunaga. Knowing his personality, she didn't want him to die of fear in some dark corner.
She had tracked him so she could reach him and protect him as soon as they were separated.
