Grudge turned around to look. It quickly realized what had happened, and fury and shock filled it.
All the divine power that had been aimed at Gelman now twisted around, its full force directed toward the sky.
"Both times it found itself in dire straits, the cause was an intolerable betrayal. Last time, it was flesh and blood. This time, it was the deep sea."
"When a fierce storm disrupted the ritual and forced it to be born early, it realized it had fallen into a trap. But it was already too late. It could only press on with its battered body."
"And yet, the deep sea really did come, when it was at its weakest, when all its apostles had perished..."
One magnificent waterspout after another burst through the billowing dark clouds, stabbing toward Grudge like spears.
Grudge struck back with all its might, summoning almost all its Grudge mist to fight them.
Rumble—
Everything exploded in the sky!
On this stretch of land, an astonishing scene appeared, pieced together from three utterly different landscapes—
A storm-lashed sky, a firmament shrouded in Grudge, and a horizon beneath a tranquil full moon.
Lightning flashed and thunder roared as divine powers intertwined. The rumbling waves of Nen spread outward, nearly sweeping Gelman from the sky.
Gelman was like a tiny boat, tossed back and forth amid the raging winds and waves!
He finally managed to steady himself, but he didn't leave. Holding the Scythe of Funeral and beating his silver-white wings, he silently drifted along the edge of this divine battle.
The explosive shock waves grew stronger with each passing moment. Every time one struck, Gelman was blasted some distance away before he managed to steady himself again.
He couldn't make out the precise exchanges in the battle between the gods.
