The firewood burned fiercely, crackling as sparks flew into the night sky.
Killua rested his chin on his hand. Amid the others' silence, he repeated his question. "Do you think we're strong enough to become Floor Masters in the Sky Arena now?"
"That depends on which Floor Master we challenge." Hanzo rested his hands on his knees, his bald head gleaming like a lightbulb in the firelight. "There's a big difference between Floor Masters."
"So it depends on luck?" Pokkle asked. He wore a tall, soft hat and carried a bow and arrows on his back.
"More or less... I heard Killua and Gon mention before that Gelman's disciple, Kurapika, is one of the Floor Masters in the Sky Arena. If we challenge him, our odds of winning would still be pretty low, right?"
"Yeah... If it's him, definitely."
Hanzo and Pokkle answered Killua's question between them.
Killua looked down at his hands. Electricity flickered between his fingers, crackling softly.
Since they'd brought up Kurapika, he couldn't help recalling their three more formal fights.
One had been during the final exam to become a Pro Hunter in 1999, another after their trial in the Sky Arena, and the third when they'd teamed up in Greed Island.
He'd lost every time, without exception. But in that last fight, he'd felt himself drawing closer to Kurapika.
If we meet again, will I be able to beat him?
