Gelman glanced at Killua, who had leaped into the branches like a monkey to hide, and smiled. Without saying anything more, he set off toward the Testing Door.
"Goodbye, Mr. Gelman." Canary bowed slightly as Gelman passed her. He nodded in response.
He stood before the towering Testing Door and was just about to push it open when he heard hurried footsteps behind him.
"Wait." Killua came running over and stopped three meters from Gelman. The fear in his eyes had faded, leaving only deep suspicion.
"Do you still want to fight?" Gelman turned around and looked down at Killua, though he already knew the answer.
"No." Killua folded his arms and stared intently at Gelman. "I just don't understand... What was that thing just now? Why did Mike stop?"
He was certain that the well-trained Mike wouldn't obey an outsider's command. Yet Gelman had merely stood there and released an indescribable aura, and Mike had come to a halt.
More importantly, Killua had felt a similar aura from Illumi. It had nearly suffocated him, making him want to run away without stopping.
He had asked the others in his family, including Canary, but none of them had been willing to tell him what it was. It seemed to have something to do with the "most crucial period" his mother often mentioned.
Now, at last, Killua had found someone outside the Zoldyck Family who could use the same "special technique." Though he was reluctant, he had still chased after him.
He wanted to know the truth.
"Young Master Killua." Canary caught up, looking worried. She had once again guessed what her young master was thinking, and tried to dissuade him. "You should let Mr. Gelman go."
