"Wing's Enhancer Nen Ability"
As the cries drew closer, Gelman knew Phoenix was nearby and would soon enter his En. He stopped without hesitation.
The other three passed him, all understanding his plan. Rather than risk being attacked while running, they were better off stopping and preparing to fight back.
Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku stopped as well, each ready for battle.
A few seconds later, the Phoenix flock rushed into Gelman's En. They screeched and beat their dazzling, spark-covered wings as they flew toward them.
From the perspective of an observer, one would surely marvel at these beautiful creatures. But as the ones being attacked, the four of them certainly weren't enjoying the view.
The Phoenix flew closer but didn't attack at once. Instead, they circled overhead, constantly crossing paths and changing formation to confuse Gelman and the others.
"Their main means of attack is probably fire." Biscuit stood back-to-back with the others, each of them watching a different direction. "I haven't seen any water around here. If they set us on fire, we'll be in trouble."
Gelman seemed to realize something. "Everyone, stay close to me. I'll block most of the flames. Get ready to attack."
Before he'd even finished speaking, the Phoenix made their move. They glided down with a beat of their wings, heading straight for the four on the ground.
Biscuit and the others had no time to think. They hurried close to Gelman, just as several Phoenix at the head of the flock spat long streams of blazing fire from their beaks!
As the horrifying serpents of fire shot toward them, Gelman calmly spread his arms and unfurled the Crow Shield. The transformed shield spread its wings, covering them like a giant umbrella.
The Crow Lord's wings had blocked the flames from Gelman's Flamethrower before.
