"Big bro, what the hell are you trying to do?!" The pirate captain was on the verge of breaking down.
What kind of Devil Fruit was this? He just stood there and let them attack, yet they couldn't do a thing to him. What was even the point of fighting?!
"Do you have a nautical chart on your ship? Bring it over so I can take a look." A faint smile tugged at Luo Sa's lips.
"A nautical chart? Yes, yes, we do!"
The pirate captain hurriedly pulled a map from his chest and tossed it to Luo Sa.
Luo Sa caught the chart and eagerly flipped through it.
After a moment, he sighed. The map still didn't match the island where the Castle-Castle Fruit was supposed to be.
"Is there anything else I can do to help you?" the pirate captain asked cautiously.
"Anything else you can do to help?" Luo Sa raised his eyes slightly, then suddenly flashed a cruel smile. "Then please disappear—all of you!"
A flash of white light, and the pirate captain's head flew high into the air. Luo Sa, in his Winged Gull Half-Beastman form, snatched it out of the air!
"100 Military Merit. Not bad." With a soft chuckle, Luo Sa swept his wing across the cabin, instantly tearing open a hole.
"Who's there?!"
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
During the brief time it took Luo Sa to kill the pirate captain, the pirates had also realized something was wrong. One by one, they jolted awake and shouted in panic.
"Sorry, everyone, but just to be safe, you'll have to die!"
Luo Sa gave a cold laugh, transformed into a Winged Gull, and soared into the sky. With a beat of his wings, a Sea Tornado formed in an instant, dragging the pirate ship down to the depths with unstoppable force!
With another flap of his wings, Luo Sa sped toward the West Sea Marine Base.
"You really are something, Luo Sa. In just half a month, you've nearly wiped out every pirate in this part of the West Sea!" Hina watched Luo Sa return to turn in his spoils for Military Merit and sighed helplessly.
The Marines around them looked at Luo Sa with admiration.
In this world, the strong were always worthy of awe!
"1,500 Military Merit, Luo Sa. You really do take on pirates of every size and leave none behind!" Sakartam gave Luo Sa a thumbs-up.
"Cut the chatter. Any news about pirate crews? Give it all to me." Luo Sa shrugged indifferently and continued asking for intelligence.
"I doubt you'd be interested in an ordinary pirate crew, but I do have news about one that should be right up your alley," Lieutenant Commander Rujeni said as he walked over.
"Oh?" Luo Sa's eyes lit up.
"Twin Sword Pirates. Their captain, Twin Sword Orr, has a bounty of 40 million Beli!"
"A 40-million bounty? That sounds like a decent opponent. Thanks, Lieutenant Commander!" Luo Sa took the information on the Twin Sword Pirates and looked it over. Then, with a satisfied nod, he transformed into a Winged Gull and flew into the sky.
"Young people have it good," Lieutenant Commander Rujeni said with a laugh.
"Damn it, that guy beat me to it again!" Drake gritted his teeth as he watched Luo Sa shrink to a speck in the sky.
During this period, the few of them had practically been competing to see who could kill the most pirates. The Marines at the base had even started taking bets.
But the outcome was obvious. With his ability to fly, Luo Sa didn't need to rely on a warship at all, giving him a huge lead in efficiency!
"At this rate, there won't be any pirates left in the West Sea," one Marine remarked.
"Isn't that a good thing? Then we'll have less work to do. I could never get tired of days spent lounging in the sun and shooting the breeze!"
It was a little after eight in the morning.
The sun had already climbed high into the sky, but now, in late October, its warmth had faded.
"Damn it, where is the island with the Castle-Castle Fruit? I've nearly searched half the West Sea, and I still haven't found a trace of it!"
During the day, Luo Sa didn't hunt pirates. Instead, he transformed into a Winged Gull and searched the skies for the island where the Castle-Castle Fruit might be.
But when night fell, he still had nothing to show for it!
"I wonder if the Twin Sword Pirates have a more complete nautical chart."
"Under cover of night, it's hunting time!"
"Heh heh heh!"
As Gastly's signature laugh rang out, Luo Sa transformed into Gastly beneath the cover of darkness and flew toward the location of the Twin Sword Pirates listed in the report.
Thanks to Gastly's ability to float, flying took Luo Sa no effort at all.
"Found it!"
Delight showed on Luo Sa's face as he slowly began to descend.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just as Luo Sa reached the deck, a gunshot rang out. The bullet had been fired straight at the spot where Gastly was!
"I've been spotted!" Luo Sa was startled and immediately sank into the deck to dodge the attack!
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
The pirates aboard the ship had all been roused by the gunshot. Fully armed, they rushed out of their quarters.
"Invisible!" As soon as he entered the deck, Luo Sa disappeared. He couldn't have cared less about these nobodies!
Soon, Luo Sa spotted his target: Orr, captain of the Twin Sword Pirates!
But Orr wasn't staying in his cabin. Instead, he was running toward the ship's deck alongside his subordinates.
Luo Sa's heart stirred, and he hurried after them.
Clang!
Suddenly, Orr, who had been walking in front, spun around. His right hand rested on his sword hilt, and in an instant, he slashed out a blade of sword energy!
It was aimed straight at where Gastly was!
"Just a coincidence?" Luo Sa was startled, but stayed perfectly still.
Slice!
A soft sound rang out. The sword energy struck Gastly's body, but instead of passing straight through as Luo Sa had expected, it cut into him, slicing away some of the dark mist that covered his body!
A sharp pain shot through Luo Sa as he was struck, forcing him to reveal himself and breaking his invisibility!
"His sword energy can actually hit me!" Luo Sa was horrified, silently cursing himself for his carelessness!
"Is it because of Sword Intent?"
Luo Sa shot upward, his body merging into the deck above!
Boom!
Orr's sword energy followed close behind, blasting open the deck. He leaped up after it and landed on the upper deck!
"A Devil Fruit User?" Orr frowned when he saw Luo Sa in his Gastly form.
In the Four Seas, Devil Fruits were well known. Some of the more powerful ones could even be called invincible!
Luo Sa's expression had darkened as well. Orr had actually been able to detect him and wound him.
There was no way Orr was just an ordinary pirate with a 40-million bounty!
