Just past five, in the villa.
Chen Si Yang pushed open the door and looked inside before even taking off her shoes.
No one's back yet, right?
The living room was empty.
After putting her bag away in her dorm, Chen Si Yang went downstairs with a document.
On the L-shaped sofa, Chen Si Yang curled up in the corner.
She opened the file bag; inside were an outline and a script.
The outline was the story background for the second part of Realm of Painting, and the script was the biography of the character Chen Si Yang had been given, along with a mini-script for that character.
Chen Si Yang read for less than five minutes before putting it down again, feeling inexplicably agitated.
She poured a glass of water, flipped through a book, then sat by the piano, unable to concentrate.
Then someone pushed open the door. She looked towards the entrance; Zhou Yun was back.
"So early?" Zhou Yun asked, surprised.
Normally, Zhou Yun was the first one back.
Chen Si Yang stood up and said, "I didn't have much to do today."
"Want to play the piano?" Zhou Yun asked with a smile.
Zhou Yun had just finished changing her shoes and happened to see Chen Si Yang standing up from the piano.
Chen Si Yang shook her head, then returned to the sofa to pick up the folder.
Zhou Yun didn't linger in the living room, chatted casually for a bit, and then went upstairs.
Tang Zhi Chu returned a few minutes before six. He entered the house and was a little surprised to see Chen Si Yang curled up on the sofa, eyes closed, apparently asleep.
Near the staircase, in the fitness area, Zhou Yun was running.
Tang Zhi Chu slowly walked to the sofa and covered Chen Si Yang with a blanket.
Then Tang Zhi Chu put the things he was carrying into the kitchen. When he returned to the living room, Chen Si Yang was already awake and spacing out.
"Why didn't you go upstairs to sleep?" Tang Zhi Chu asked as he approached.
Chen Si Yang snapped back to attention and stretched. "I wasn't planning on sleeping."
After a nap, her energy seemed to have recovered. Chen Si Yang tilted her head back and sniffed hard. "I think I smell something special."
"Something delicious. Who's cooking today?"
Tang Zhi Chu said this and sat down next to Chen Si Yang. He suddenly felt something under his butt and asked, confused, "What's this?"
"Mine. I don't know who's cooking either. Let's order takeout; everyone's been working hard."
Tang Zhi Chu pulled a folder out from under him. Hearing Chen Si Yang say it was hers, he handed it to her.
"What's this?"
"A script."
"Whoa? You got a project?"
Chen Si Yang nodded. "A role better than a background extra. About the same amount of screen time as the female police officer He Jin played in the movie we watched last time."
Chen Si Yang flipped over, no longer wearing her hat, and propped herself up on her arms, looking at Tang Zhi Chu.
Tang Zhi Chu frowned slightly, both surprised and confused, then asked, "Did your agent pick it out for you?"
Speaking of which, Chen Si Yang puffed up a little. "No, I got it myself."
Tang Zhi Chu nodded. So that's how it is. In his heart, he thought, Silly girl. Getting a role yourself at this time might not be a good thing.
"Is it very impressive?" Chen Si Yang asked again.
Tang Zhi Chu smiled. "A tiny bit. So, are you worried about this role?"
"Worried? About me?"
"Your state tells me something's not right."
Chen Si Yang huffed and whispered, "If I'm worried, it's about you."
Tang Zhi Chu shrugged and then got up.
Watching Tang Zhi Chu run off again, Chen Si Yang looked up at the ceiling, looking displeased.
But then, Tang Zhi Chu returned, holding two cups of milk tea.
Chen Si Yang smiled and perked up, sitting cross-legged. "Is it from that shop at the intersection?"
Tang Zhi Chu nodded. "I've passed by it several times. I couldn't resist getting two cups today."
"Me too. Every time I pass by, I want to buy a cup, but I've never had the nerve to ask the driver to stop."
Tang Zhi Chu had only bought two cups. He gave one to Chen Si Yang and glanced at Zhou Yun. "Want some milk tea?"
Zhou Yun heard herself being called and looked back, then gestured to the sports watch on her wrist, indicating she hadn't run enough yet. "No thanks."
Tang Zhi Chu didn't stand on ceremony, popping the straw in with a pfft.
Tang Zhi Chu and Chen Si Yang sat cross-legged on the sofa. Tang Zhi Chu was scrolling through his phone, while Chen Si Yang held her script again.
The two of them would occasionally take a sip of their milk tea.
Tang Zhi Chu was looking up some information. Chen Si Yang's agent was Liu Yu, one of Tianhe Entertainment's most senior agents.
After looking up some things, Tang Zhi Chu glanced at Chen Si Yang.
Some things were hard to explain, and Chen Si Yang herself didn't seem to understand.
However, Tang Zhi Chu understood Chen Si Yang's mindset. She was working hard to grasp her work environment, which was a transformation in itself.
He had originally wanted to tell Chen Si Yang that it was best to inform her agent when choosing projects.
But Tang Zhi Chu held back. What he could see, her agent could probably also see. He just didn't know Chen Si Yang's importance to her agent.
Gradually, more people returned to the villa. Compared to the grand welcome at the beginning, things had become more relaxed. They ordered takeout for dinner.
After dinner, everyone went for a walk together outside.
They walked along a wooden boardwalk to an artificial lake, where the grass was very soft.
Yang Jia Xing stood by the lake for a long time without moving, lost in thought.
"What's wrong?" Huang Ze Jun walked over.
Yang Jia Xing turned around and then smiled.
But his smile was tinged with helplessness. He had initially considered Huang Ze Jun his biggest competitor.
"What do you think is most important for girls?" Yang Jia Xing suddenly asked Huang Ze Jun.
Huang Ze Jun was taken aback, then began to ponder.
Under the night sky, he had actually intended to have a good chat with Yang Jia Xing.
Deep down, Huang Ze Jun actually agreed with Yang Jia Xing. He felt Yang Jia Xing had excellent qualities in all aspects, while himself? He had only achieved his current status through many years of hard work.
"Guidance? Companionship?"
Yang Jia Xing glanced back at Huang Ze Jun and thought, No wonder you also lost to Tang Zhi Chu.
Yang Jia Xing had spoken with several friends today who were very skilled in relationships, seeking advice. After learning from them, he understood, but it was too late.
Yang Jia Xing shook his head. "No, for ordinary girls, guidance and companionship are indeed important, but what about extraordinary girls?"
From Huang Ze Jun's answer, Yang Jia Xing could roughly judge what kind of person he was. When Huang Ze Jun dated, he probably always sought out those who were weaker than him.
Such girls were easy to handle and needed precisely guidance and companionship.
Huang Ze Jun glanced back at the others, then retorted, "Then what do you think is most important?"
"Happiness, excitement, or even pain."
Huang Ze Jun frowned. Happiness? Excitement, or even pain?
"Brother Jun, actually, girls don't need companionship."
Huang Ze Jun shook his head. "If there's no companionship, how can there be affection?"
Yang Jia Xing fell silent. His mood suddenly improved considerably.
It wasn't that girls didn't need companionship, but that companionship was the least important aspect.
Yang Jia Xing felt that at least he understood how he was doomed, while Huang Ze Jun? He was still confused even in death.
Huang Ze Jun felt he wasn't misunderstanding Yang Jia Xing's words. The conditions he mentioned carried a hint of insincerity.
It was like fishing.
What was Huang Ze Jun thinking?
No wonder Chen Si Yang didn't choose you. Your death isn't unjust.
The conversation ended. Huang Ze Jun felt he and Yang Jia Xing couldn't connect, they weren't on the same path. He glanced at Tang Zhi Chu, who was lying on the grass, enjoying himself.
