"Bulma? You actually pressed the self-destruct device and shattered everyone's hopes."
Seeing the Spaceship explode, Master Roshi couldn't help but make a snide remark.
Everyone's hearts sank at the sight, and no one knew what to say.
Chi-Chi was overjoyed inside. Without a Spaceship, her Gohan wouldn't have to go to Planet Namek.
Meanwhile, Son Gohan thought that Mr. Popo would soon appear by the Window and tell everyone that Kami also had a Spaceship.
"Ahem, ahem... It was an accident. Completely an accident."
Bulma coughed a few times, hiding the embarrassment on her face.
That shouldn't have happened, right?
How could it have gone wrong?
Where exactly had the problem occurred?
"What are we supposed to do now? Without a Spaceship, how are we going to get to Planet Namek?"
Krillin said with a look of utter despair.
Now that Bulma had wrecked the only Spaceship that could take them to Planet Namek, where else could they find a Spaceship?
"It's all your fault, Krillin. Why did you have to pick up that junk Remote Control? If you hadn't, the Spaceship wouldn't have exploded."
Bulma fully demonstrated a woman's unreasonable side.
Krillin's mouth twitched repeatedly after hearing that. Bulma, was it really okay for you to say that?
Didn't your conscience hurt?
Everyone stared at Bulma's excuse in astonishment, speechless as well.
You had pressed buttons blindly before even figuring it out, and now that the Spaceship had exploded, you were blaming the person who picked up the Remote Control?
"Don't panic, everyone. I think I came here in a Spaceship when I was little."
"Besides, my big brother Raditz's Spaceship is still there, though Gohan destroyed most of it."
Son Goku remembered his grandfather once telling him that he had found him inside a round, unidentified object.
That should have been a Saiyan Spaceship.
Everyone's eyes suddenly turned toward Son Goku.
Right, why hadn't they thought of that?
They could modify their Spaceships.
"Goku, you're amazing. I'll go find it right away."
Krillin said excitedly.
Now he saw hope again.
"Hi, everyone. I know where there's a ready-made Spaceship."
Just as everyone was rejoicing over what Goku had said, a man's voice came from the Window, drawing everyone's attention.
A dark-skinned man dressed like an Indian.
With his trademark dead-fish eyes and fiery red lips, wasn't this Kami's attendant, Mr. Popo?
"Wow, that's terrifying!"
Bulma happened to be standing by the Window. When she turned around, she saw a dark-skinned man standing behind her.
He looked so frightening that she thought she had seen something unclean!
And this was more than ten stories up. Standing outside the Window like that—had she seen a ghost in broad daylight?
She stumbled backward in fright and nearly fell.
Son Gohan's lips curled upward slightly when he saw this. Just as expected!
So this was Mr. Popo. He really looked exactly like he did in the anime.
"Don't be afraid, everyone. This is Mr. Popo. He's someone who has always stayed by Kami's side."
Seeing Mr. Popo while lying in bed, Son Goku introduced him to everyone.
No one knew Mr. Popo's origins. In the anime, Kami had mentioned that he had served the previous Kami as well.
After Son Goku's introduction, everyone lowered their guard. So he was Kami's attendant.
Suddenly, there was a dark-skinned man standing by the Window, and many people in the hospital had gathered to watch. Even someone living to be a hundred without dying would make the news.
Only then did everyone notice that the dark-skinned man was standing on a Flying Carpet.
"Mr. Popo, did you really say there was a Spaceship? Where is it?"
Krillin walked excitedly to the Window and asked.
The news he had brought was simply too shocking.
"It's true. I don't know exactly where it is, but I can take you there. Who's coming with me?"
Mr. Popo nodded as he spoke.
He only knew of the place; he couldn't explain it clearly in just a sentence or two.
But he knew the way. Kami had taken him there before.
"Bulma, you should go with Mr. Popo!"
Krillin turned to Bulma. She was the only one here who could pilot a spaceship.
"Huh? Me? This Popo guy looks like a bad person."
"I'm just a weak woman. What if he tries something funny with me?"
Bulma looked at Mr. Popo fearfully. No matter how she looked at him, he didn't seem like a good person.
An image involuntarily surfaced in her mind.
What if this Black man took her somewhere deserted and did something improper to her?
By then, she could scream herself hoarse and no one would know.
"Bulma, I'll go with you."
When Son Gohan saw Mr. Popo, he thought of Kami's Lookout and the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, a heaven-defying training ground.
This was the perfect chance to use that time to train and quickly increase his strength.
"Great! With Gohan going with me, I can relax."
Bulma was instantly overjoyed. Son Gohan was so strong now; with him there, she would be safe.
"Gohan, be careful."
Chi-Chi hesitated, wanting to keep Gohan by her side. The mother and son had already been apart for a year.
But she couldn't just keep Gohan beside her. After all, Earth was no longer in danger.
Son Goku and the others each told their sons to protect everyone's safety.
"We're off! Wait for our good news, everyone."
Bulma and Son Gohan jumped onto the Flying Carpet, and Mr. Popo piloted it out of everyone's sight in an instant.
At the edge of Earth—the Land of Extreme Cold!
"Popo, what is this place? Why is it so cold?"
Bulma stepped off the Flying Carpet. A frigid gust blew through the air, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around herself as she complained.
"This is the edge of Earth. The sun never reaches this place, so it's always this cold. I'll take you to see Kami's house. I don't know whether it's a spaceship or not."
Mr. Popo led them over mountains and across ridges toward Kami's house.
Kami came here every so often to check on the place, occasionally bringing Mr. Popo along. Now, Mr. Popo easily led Son Gohan and Bulma to a house that looked like an insect.
"Gohan, don't you think Kami's house looks like a dung beetle?"
Seeing the spaceship before her, Bulma couldn't help saying to Son Gohan.
"It does look a little like one!"
It was also Son Gohan's first time seeing a spaceship. The one before them looked entirely like an insect, with four long pillars holding the house aloft, its surface covered in moss.
Bulma was the sort of person with a screw loose—straightforward by nature and never one to beat around the bush.
It would have been enough for her to know it herself. Why did she have to say something so disgusting out loud?
"Is this really a spaceship? It doesn't look like one at all. How do we open it?"
Bulma circled Kami's strange house, but she couldn't find where the entrance was.
