Face to Face with a Deity

The Blood of Slaughter was continually being refined.

At that moment, as the Life Fire blazed, the drop of golden blood began to change. Its outer form was stripped away, and the layers of rule power that formed its protective barrier were slowly peeled off by the Life Fire, leaving only its pure essence to appear fully before Arthur.

A remnant of Golden Radiance shimmered within it.

At that moment, Arthur sensed a vast majesty rising before him and sweeping in every direction. He couldn't help feeling a powerful unease, as though his instincts sensed a threat.

As if sensing a higher level of power, Arthur's body tensed unconsciously, reacting to it.

For something to provoke such a reaction from Arthur, whose body was already gradually becoming that of a Demigod, the nature of the thing before him was self-evident.

A god.

The point of Golden Radiance before him was none other than the divine essence contained within the Blood of Slaughter.

In other words, a divine spark.

The Blood of Slaughter was divine blood left behind by the God of Slaughter before he fell dormant in ancient times. It contained the God of Slaughter's source power, along with a fragment of his divine essence.

It was precisely because this divine essence existed that the Blood of Slaughter could influence other living beings, turning them into Children of Slaughter and twisting them into something else. They became tools of the God of Slaughter, serving him under his control.

The power to do all of this came from the fragment of divine essence contained within the Blood of Slaughter.

Now, as Arthur advanced to Demigod, the Divine Fire produced during his ascension had continually scorched the Blood of Slaughter. At last, its divine essence had emerged, no longer hidden within Arthur's
