The History of Calamity

While Lucis and the others explored elsewhere, the Calamity Incarnation stood quietly in place.

"This aura..."

Standing motionless, the Calamity Incarnation silently sensed the aura around him. A thought crossed his mind, and he started toward a certain place.

He set off in a particular direction and slowly made his way to a corner.

In that corner stood a vast palace. It looked towering and majestic, so enormous that at a glance it seemed more like a great city than a palace.

As he stepped inside, a hazy sense of space came over him.

Ripples seemed to pass through the surrounding space. As the Calamity Incarnation arrived, they began to spread of their own accord, blurring the world around him.

A hazy sensation swept through the area. A silent force came from ahead and closed in around the Calamity Incarnation.

However, as his aura spilled out, the force meant to inspect him was instantly tampered with, and it simply passed over him.

"A similar method... A technique learned from wizards?"

Feeling the force that had been used to inspect him, the Calamity Incarnation pondered.

The force used for the inspection was very similar to several methods commonly used in the Wizard World. Powerful wizards liked to use such defensive measures in their tombs to check whether those who entered met their requirements.

This technique was very common in the Wizard World, and highly effective. In this Calamity World, it would probably be even easier to catch people off guard.

A native of the Calamity World might fall for it even if they were powerful enough, should they let their guard down.

But for the Calamity Incarnation, this method was inadequate.

After all, his original self had been an exceptionally powerful wizard.
