Xiang Chong was an assistant editor for a science and research column.
His job was to keep an eye on the latest research news and, whenever something was discovered, report it to the editor-in-chief right away. The editor-in-chief would then lead the editorial team in putting together and publishing a story, or notify a reporter to write one.
It was a painfully dull job, so his desk was never without Qinglin Leisure Tea and Qinglin Mind-Nourishing Elixir.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences' official website was also the site he visited most often in his daily work.
After all, the Academy was the country's research hub, where breakthroughs were most likely to happen. Any major discovery announced there would make big news.
As usual, Xiang Chong logged on to the Academy's website to check for updates. But this time, as soon as he opened it, he saw a newly posted announcement.

Xiang Chong reported back, looking astonished. "Editor-in-chief, take a look at the latest announcement on the Academy's website. Xiao Qin and Professor Li Kai have been specially awarded Academician titles."
Everyone froze.
