Bread growing on trees had appeared in many cartoons, such as Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf.
But in cartoons, bread growing on trees didn't seem strange. Anything was possible in a cartoon, as long as you had enough imagination.
Reality was different. Who had ever seen bread grow on a tree?
It was the stuff of fairy tales.
Yet now, something straight out of a fairy tale was happening right before their eyes.
"Boss Qin, how did you do it?" Minister Lu asked, unable to believe what he was seeing.
How could Qin Lin possibly tell him how it had been done?
He'd gotten it from the game!
All he could do was make something up. "It was a chance occurrence. I only knew the tree had undergone a genetic mutation. I had no idea the mutation would be so amazing."
He had no choice but to come up with an explanation.
If he blamed the Sand Fruit's transformation on a random genetic mutation, he could deflect any further questions.
Minister Lu nodded, convinced. "That makes sense. A random mutation might produce something like this. It's impressive, Boss Qin. Without you, this mutated species might never have come about."
Then Minister Lu asked, "Boss Qin, it only looks like bread, right? And it isn't poisonous?"
Qin Lin didn't dare answer outright. If he confirmed it, wouldn't that tell everyone there was something suspicious about it?
So he could only make something up again. "Minister Lu, we'll have to test it first."
As he spoke, Qin Lin called Shen Li and asked him to come over.
Sometimes, you had to go through the motions, even when they seemed unnecessary.
Before long, Shen Li arrived and saw the Sand Fruit trees. The dense clusters of fruit made him stare in disbelief.
