Then they sent people outside the base to start making gestures.
But the distance seemed too great, and the people too small. There was no way to make sure the other side could see them clearly. So they brought in some Transformers and had them make the gestures instead.
They even fitted the Transformers with colored lights so the other side could see the gestures more clearly.
They believed the other side's spacecraft definitely had cameras, and that they could use them to see what was happening here.
