This was the Federation's first reception for foreign guests, and those guests were naturally the aliens.
For the time being, the aliens who had teamed up with Ma Hong to seize the alien spacecraft were friends to Earth.
And now that they had made contact with the universe, the Earth Federation naturally wanted to raise its standing.
Back then, the huge conflict between Beautiful Country, the Eastern Country, and That Bear had been caused primarily by their struggle for status. They had all wanted to be the dominant power.
Now that the Federation had been established, they were all on the same side. But as they faced the universe, those people still cared a great deal about status.
Only this time, the struggle to be dominant wasn't about other countries. It was about the aliens.
By now, they basically understood what had happened to the aliens: the Space Pirates had destroyed or occupied their home worlds.
That meant the aliens' people had either been taken over by the pirates like they had, or were wandering somewhere in the universe aboard spacecraft.
But the Earth Federation had now defeated those green-skinned aliens, and its strength was naturally greater. So, of course, it wanted to become the dominant power over these aliens—in simple terms, to take them on as underlings.
Human nature really was hard to change, no matter the time or place.
The hall was already packed with aliens, all seated. Each alien's seat bore their name and species.
That was naturally thanks to the Octopus-headed aliens.
The Octopus-headed aliens could produce special eggs that allowed people to understand one another's speech.
And there wasn't just one Octopus-headed alien. There were many of them, and their species was called the Multi-legged race.
