Legendary Pokémon Capture Plan

Outside the Interrogation Room, Wang Yan sat in his seat playing on his phone, sometimes excited, sometimes silent, completely absorbed in whatever was on the screen.

Beside him, his Charizard gave him a helpless look. How could he play on his phone so casually in such a serious place? His trainer was really embarrassing.

Just then, the door to the Interrogation Room opened. Li Gang walked out holding a file bag, his expression grim.

Seeing him come out, Wang Yan put down his phone.

"Hey, big bro, how'd it go?" Wang Yan grinned, his cheerful demeanor clashing with the seriousness on everyone else's faces.

His voice was loud too, adding noise to the previously quiet hallway.

Li Gang naturally didn't give him a warm look. "You'd better watch yourself. Don't treat this place like your own home. You haven't even passed the League exam yet."

Wang Yan rubbed his head innocently. "Got it, got it. You're as naggy as my sister. I'll make it in here sooner or later."

"Your sister has way more discipline than you. If you don't rein in that attitude of yours, getting in here is going to be tough." Li Gang's tone was more of a friendly warning.

Li Gang glanced at the Charizard beside him and showed a hint of surprise. "Your Charizard feels a lot stronger than last time. At this rate, I didn't realize you were actually pretty good at raising Pokémon."

"Of course. Don't you know who I am? I'm a top-tier trainer." Wang Yan puffed up with pride, though inwardly he couldn't help but marvel at how effective training under a Legendary Pokémon was. Ever since Entei had trained him once, his Charizard's strength had improved significantly.

The progress over these past few days was about equal to two months of his old training methods.

Hearing the praise, Charizard lifted its head high, looking incredibly smug.

"So, what did you get out of him?" Wang Yan steered the conversation back.

Li Gang's face, which had relaxed a little, turned serious again. "It's not convenient to talk here. Let's discuss it in my office later."

After a while, Li Gang finished up some tasks and returned to his office. Wang Yan was already seated, waiting for him.

"Want me to brew you some tea? You look busy."

"Forget it. Are you the owner here, or am I? Let's just get straight to the point."

The two began their discussion.

As Li Gang relayed the information, Wang Yan's previously carefree expression shifted to one of surprise and confusion.

"You're serious? They're really going after the Legendary Pokémon around here? With a systematic capture plan?"

Li Gang nodded.

"No way. With their strength, how could they handle those powerful beings?"

Li Gang silently wiped the watch on his wrist. "Those people's strength really isn't much, but they're just small fry. The force behind them is nothing to sneeze at."

"I still can't believe they could pose a threat to beings that powerful. Those are Legendary Pokémon. Even if we don't know exactly how much stronger they are than other peak-level Pokémon, they're definitely not something a bunch of random thugs can handle."

Information about Legendary Pokémon was scarce among humans, so the Pokédex barely had any entries on them. But anyone who had looked into it even a little knew they existed.

"According to what that hunter just said, their higher-ups have already made a move once. But we couldn't get any specific details out of him. Those guys weren't deeply involved in the plan and don't know much." Li Gang tossed away the tissue in his hand. His expression barely changed, but the slight furrow of his brow betrayed his true feelings.

"This..." Wang Yan didn't know what to say. He wasn't like others—he had actually seen Legendary Pokémon with his own eyes. He still remembered the first time he encountered Entei and the other Legendary Beasts. The overwhelming Pressure had made his legs go weak with fear. Could anyone really have designs on Pokémon like that?

"Still, after extensive investigation, we did get some information. Last time, they captured Kanto Region's Articuno, but it managed to escape, so their plan failed." Li Gang's expression relaxed a little.

"Our neighboring region has traces of these criminals too? I don't get it. Why are they trying to catch those Pokémon? Asking for trouble. They don't actually think subduing those beings will let them harness their power, do they?"

"The human heart is hard to fathom. There have already been quite a few incidents targeting Legendary Pokémon around the world. None of those groups succeeded, but they've genuinely affected how those beings see us. Take our region, for example. Ho-Oh and the Legendary Beasts have been growing colder toward us. Especially Ho-Oh—it hasn't appeared before humans in decades. This matter absolutely cannot be taken lightly. It has to be dealt with seriously." Li Gang's gaze hardened, as if he was determined to arrest those lawless criminals.

Wang Yan nodded. Even if those people couldn't actually harm Entei and the others, they couldn't be allowed to ruin the Legendary Pokémon's impression of humanity.

"By the way, I need to ask you something. That guy said the Pokémon that defeated them was one of our Legendary Beasts—Entei. You used to be the Brave of the Rainbow, so you should know something about it, right."

"Uh... you know that was years ago. I haven't seen them since I failed my challenge. How would I know anything about them?" Wang Yan thought for a moment but still didn't mention Entei. He had promised Entei not to reveal anything about it or Yan Yang, and he couldn't break his word.

Still, this was important. He needed to find a way to notify Entei. But he had no idea where Entei lived. Without any leads, searching for a secretive Legendary Pokémon was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

He could only wait for Entei to find him again, but that was unlikely. Entei had said it would bring Yan Yang back here in a few years, so it probably wouldn't show itself to anyone else until then.

Li Gang looked a bit disappointed. If even the former Brave of the Rainbow hadn't seen the Legendary Beasts, then no one else stood a chance.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, Li Gang asked, "Have you heard about that news from a few years ago—Entei appearing in some small town? The person who saw it said Entei traded with her for some children's clothes. Do you think a new Brave of the Rainbow has emerged? Did it have him get kids' clothes?"

He had no idea what Entei wanted those clothes for, so he could only guess.

"And according to those criminals, there was someone wearing a mask riding on Entei's back. Maybe that's the new Brave of the Rainbow recognized by Entei." The more Li Gang talked, the more convinced he became. Maybe his guess was right.

Whether his guess was right or not, Wang Yan knew the truth perfectly well. The person on Entei's back could only be that kid, Yan Yang. That news story was just Entei finding clothes for the child.

If others found out about this, they'd probably be shocked. Sure, there had been cases of Pokémon raising humans before, but a Legendary Pokémon doing it was unheard of.

Thinking back to Yan Yang's shy expression, the corner of Wang Yan's mouth lifted slightly. That kid was pretty cute. No wonder Entei liked him.

With Entei by his side, that kid was lucky.

And having that kid with Entei was good too. It kept Entei and the others from losing all hope in humanity.

He just hoped this incident wouldn't drag Entei and Yan Yang into it.

"Report!" A flustered voice came from outside, urgent, as if something important had happened.

"Come in."

A police officer walked in, quickly composing himself before reporting. "Sir, those people have already made their move."

"So fast?" Li Gang was surprised. "Which Pokémon is their target?"

"This time, their target is one of the Legendary Beasts—Raikou."

Meanwhile, in the forest, Yan Yang and the others were still searching for Pidgey's lost stone.
