Yan Yang felt his back tighten slightly under Lucario's fixed gaze.

The tension in the air made even the Turtwig by his feet anxiously rub against his pant leg.

At this point, any concealment would not only be futile, but could also cause irreversible consequences by delaying the right moment.

He had to gain the Champion's trust and assistance.

"Champion Lucario," Yan Yang said as he stepped forward, meeting her eyes honestly. "I do have something extremely important to report to you immediately. This matter... is far more than the disappearance of the stone pillars. It concerns Saffron City's survival and may even endanger the entire Kalos Region."

Lucario's delicate brows furrowed slightly. Her instincts as Champion told her how weighty the young man's words were.

Her gaze swept over Yan Yang carefully once more—he was young, yet his eyes were clear and showed no trace of panic; the Turtwig beside him had been raised exceptionally well and looked ready to evolve.

More importantly, the existence of the Eternal Flower itself was an enormous mystery, making it impossible for her to simply classify Yan Yang as an ordinary Trainer.

She raised a hand in a concise gesture. The staff beside her immediately understood and silently expanded the security perimeter again, creating a relatively isolated space for conversation and ensuring that no one outside could overhear them.

"Oh?" Lucario's voice retained a Champion's composure. "I'm very interested. But before that, could you first clear up one question for me? Why... are you with the Eternal Flower?"

"The Eternal Flower... it sort of followed me by accident," Yan Yang tried to say lightly.

That explanation clearly failed to convince Lucario. "Followed you by accident? You may not fully understand what the Eternal Flower represents."
