The heavy metal door of the cell slowly slid open to one side with a low hiss of released pressure.
Several figures stood outside. The man at the front carried himself with calm authority. He was Cheng Yu, the Dark Hunters' chief overseer in the Kalos Region.
Though Yan Yang had never met him in person, the aura around him—a blend of a superior's authority, machine-like calm, and a faint, deeply concealed sharpness—made Yan Yang realize at once that he was no ordinary character.
The man wore a composed, professional smile, but beneath it lay undisguised scrutiny and an almost appreciative appraisal.
Yet strangely, Yan Yang's sharp intuition—his not-entirely-reliable Psychic Power perception—did not sense pure malice from him. Instead, he vaguely caught an echo of... former "integrity"?
Could this man... not have been born evil, but instead strayed onto this path because of some change in circumstances?
The man's identity was practically self-evident. Doctor Poppy, whom Yan Yang had encountered before, stood half a step behind him, and that explained everything.
For Doctor Poppy to show him such respect, his status within the Dark Hunters had to be extremely high. He was most likely one of the seven highest-ranking executives.
If they were ranked by strength, Yan Yang sincerely hoped this man was near the bottom. Otherwise, what came next would be even harder.
However, Yan Yang had already indirectly encountered Azure, known as Number Six, and Qing Mu, known as Number Five. Judging by this man's bearing and position, he was probably... ranked quite high.
Yan Yang could still keep calm and analyze the situation, but Volcanion beside him could not remain rational.
Rational? How the hell was he supposed to be rational?
"So you're the bastard leading all this trouble, huh?" Volcanion roared like an exploding steam boiler.
